I bought this specifically to keep in a compact car for Winter emergencies. Had the chance to use it and it worked exactly as desired.Got the car stuck on a plow berm and had to dig it out. The shovel itself comes in its own little nylon bag and the whole thing is really light and compact (which is especially important in a smaller vehicle) .Putting it together was easy. Just press the springloaded buttons and snap the pieces together (which I was able to easily do with gloves on).Two of the main reasons I chose this collapsible shovel in particular:1) it has a longer handle than most of the other options, which is a huge plus. Don't have to bend over as much, and it also allows me to easily reach/dig further under the car.2) the collapsible USGI shovels have a fairly stronge hinge (but a much shorter length than this shovel), but as seen in Amazon reviews, the cheap Chinese made shovels have pretty fragile/unreliable folding hinges. This design doesn't have a folding hinge.I used it to dig myself out, and the shovel worked great in the typical mix of compacted snow and ice in the berms/ridges that the city plows leave behind. Even chiseling through some of the more solid chunks didn't faze this shovel.Once I dug my car out, taking it apart was just as easy. Although the black coating was scraped off the bottom front edge of the shovel blade, the shovel held up great.It may not be the best choice for hardpacked dirt (a USGI shovel, or the Cold Steel Spetznaz or Trench shovels would be stronger, but as mentioned, those are much shorter), but as an emergency compact snow shovel, this thing is GREAT!

The shovels just the right size and it’s easy to assemble. It’s lightweight and holds just the right amount of snow as to not injure your back. I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product to anyone.

I've rated 4 stars for now because I haven't used the shovel to shovel any snow yet, but instead based it upon opening the package and just examining the product. I have also included some pictures of how I received it and threw a measuring tape next to the product so you guys can have a better idea of the size.Everything looks good. It comes in a little black bag that you can throw in all the components of the shovel and store away. Once I took out the components and romved the plastic wraps that they were in everything looks good and sturdy. The handle is big enough to be able to hold and have a good grip on. The two extensions also look durable and sturday as well. The actually shovel piece itself I think is a good thickness. (Can see in picture) Now I'm not sure if this could be too thin to you guys or too thick, since I haven't purchased any other shovels similar to it and compare it, but to me it looks good. I've got this shovel over the other ones simply because it's longer than the other competitors. I usually see the other shovels extend up to 32" fully extended, but this one is 43" when fully extended which is great.Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase and shall see how it performs when the snow comes. Hopefully the pictures I took will help others who have an interest in this shovel.

Assembles easily and is incredibly sturdy. Haven’t used it in snow yet but am confident it will get the job done. Well worth the purchase!

Have a set of stairs that need to clear for dog when it snows. The reg. shovel is too big to make it easy. this is the perfect size, adjustable size with three different extension tubes. comes with a nice travel bag to throw in back of car.

I got this shovel as a Christmas gift and I totaled my car after using it a couple times. It survived the crash but one of the poles was lost so I got a new one 100% get this shovel it is great

It seems weak at first but after putting it up against the last blizzard cleanup gotta give it credit, its still in one piece. The shovel is a little on the narrow side for that type of clean up but it gets down to the sidewalk without a ton of effort. Breaks apart the snow even the half frozen parts without much effort. Once you really get going you almost forget how small it is. Though that definatly makes a difference yes take a few more shovelfulls to get it all cleared but for me the advantage is I'm less likely to trash my shoulder cuz cant pick up as large or as heavy of scoops so while barely notice the few extra scoops I do notice on less sore and more able to move later. Either near the end of cleaning up usually having trouble lifting arm or later when normally can be hard to use it sometimes even after ice or heat or ibuprofen hurts remove or try to lift it. After the last storm I was able to use arm with minimal problems later in the evening. So I guess what I originally saw is kind of a problem turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I got through and got it done in about the same amount of time as I normally would and wasn't in half as much pain as I normally be later on. Of course after the last blizzard I switch back and forth between this one and my larger shovel as I was doing it just because when it's waist to chest High snow I want to get through it faster but I kept this one nearby to break up any harder chunks of snow and ice to get underneath the deck in certain spots where the big one can't fit and to go all the way around the mailbox because that have been plowed in multiple times and my larger shovel probably would have snapped if I tried using it there.

Bought this collapsible snow shovel to strap onto our snowmobile for when we get stuck!Great little shovel to have , easily assembled and adjustable for different heights. Strong metal shaft and strong plastic scoop, has already saved me 3 times. Great quality for the price . Going to order another one to leave in car for winter , perfect emergency/ portable shovel

Really sturdy but lightweight, aluminium no plastic.. three lengths of tube that interconnect to get the right height of shovel for the job..ie digging out the car or clearing pathways.. fits in the bag provided and takes up no room in the boot of the car.. I would highly recommend spending a bit more as the smaller collapsible ones are quite flimsy

Pala ergonomica che si può fissare a diverse lunghezze grazie a 4 giunti, è robusta e ha un bel manico in gomma anti-scivolo. E' un prodotto che si è reso necessario da quando l'anno scorso sono rimsato bloccato in parcheggio per la neve, non occupa molto spazio e la tengo fissa nel bagagliaio, è pensata per l'inverno ma magari può rivelarsi utile anche per piantare un ombrellone in spiaggia, per tutte le stagioni
