Yes, you can make bechamel from scratch but I don't because this is pretty fantastic and reduced cooking time. It is powder so don't need to use up the whole thing - that I like.

Items came open - unacceptable
We will NOT consume an edible item that comes in an opened container. Amazon says it is not returnable. Fine, but there should be a refund. There should be a zero star option for this.

Easy to use
Easy to use, great product, especially since Bechamel sauce mix is no longer easy to find. This is very simple to use. For anyone not familiar with basic french, 1/2 litre de lait is two cups of milk, and 6 cuillères means 6 tablespoons. For the two of us, I bring one cup of milk to a boil, gradually stir in 3-4 tbsp of the powder (directions say to take the pan off the heat, but I usually don't bother). then let simmer for about two minutes while stirring, until desired thickness.

Box doesn’t look very new. Not sure what it will taste like, but the packaging was a mess.

This Might Be Worth 5 starts but there are no instructions in English only French so my one and only try did not turn out good vary flat taste, Maybe once i can get it interpited to English I will Try makeing it again. I Had Really Had High Hopes Of This Product But A Big Let Down Because Of No English Instructions,
