Really good design and great qulity

I own two ADE optics red or green dot sights. The first one I purchased was model RD3-009D for a 1911 (45cal) and then this RD3-009B1 for my Shield. They both work great and I will buy again. The installation is simple with a rear sight tool and I’ve seen videos of them being installed using a brass punch. I had an issue with the 1911 not zeroing. I emailed them with my issue (shooting low) and they sent me a slanted shim to install (no charge) that fixed the problem. Living in California where buying a red dot ready pistol is almost impossible this sight makes it possible at a very good price.

I bought this because I wanted to put a dot optic on my M&P Shield CCW. Got it mounted, took it to the range to zero the sight and it was impossible. I adjusted the elevation all the way down and the dot still won't match shots; it's too high. It can't be adjusted low enough to zero at 10m. Beyond that, the screws are cheap and strip incredibly easily. I left the optic on my Shield because I figured even if it wasn't completely zeroed, it wasn't so far off at 10m that I wanted to remove it entirely. Then the battery died. Unfortunately, the only way to replace the battery is to remove the optic, and one of the screws is stuck because the head stripped while trying to unscrew it. Now I've got useless optic with a dead battery stuck on my CCW until I can find a way to get the screw out. Since it replaces the rear sight with the adapter plate, you can't use the original sights as a backup.

Instructions were not very clear. Took a minute or two of critical thinking to figure out what i needed to do to get the mount on. Finally went to the range ran 50 rounds through it with a bore zero of one of my hallways (the max distance i would feel comfortable engaging any target in a self defense scenario without fear of missing. and at 10-15 yards it held center mass fairly well. I will eventually upgrade but this is a great stepping stone to get into the red dot market for pistols

Did not fit the equalizer, otherwise great.

Works good plate does not line up the best but for the price you can make it work I have a sd9 1.0 and it works on it haven’t used it a whole lot but hasn’t fell off yet overall for the money it’s worth it

This optics went above and beyond my expectations. I'm absolutely going to be using Amazon alot more in the future and I highly recommend everyone else to shop here!
