Update 1: The vendor offered a full refund or a replacement unit. I chose the replacement unit, which arrived two days later. I installed the humidifier, and it has been operating without problems for 13 days. I will provide another update at the one month point. Update 2: The humidifier has been operating without problems for one month, so I'm updating to 5 stars and adding these comments: Pros: -- Top fill. This was the main reason I choose this humidifier. Just take the lid off and pour in water. There is even a removable reservoir, so you can add water in a location away from the humidifier. I had a bottom fill humidifier before I got this one, and filling it was an awkward process. -- User-adjustable humidity set point. When the unit is on, an internal fan passes air over a humidistat to determine ambient humidity. The unit stops atomizing if the ambient humidity is above the set point. This saves water by atomizing only when necessary. -- Remote control. -- Support from the vendor. Con: User settings are lost during a power outage or momentary power glitch. You don't know the unit has been reset to the default settings unless you check them every time you turn on the humidifier. Advice to the manufacturer: store user settings in flash memory, then restore those settings when power returns. ========================== Original review: As with many other 1-star reviewers, the dreaded 002 error message popped up after two days of use (distilled water only). If the unit flashes 002, it won't work until the problem is solved. After cleaning per the instructions (a really awkward process), the humidifier works for half an hour before the 002 error flashes again. I gave up after repeating this routine three times. Most users seem to like this humidifier, but a substantial number don't have units that operate reliably. Be sure to look at the 1-star and 2-star reviews before purchasing. Buyer beware.

I love this humidifier. I've had probably about 10 different brands of humidifiers!! lol I just hate cleaning them. I know that sounds like a crazy amount, but I get sinus/ear infections every year. And since I've been using a humidifier, I haven't gotten one in the last 3 years. This one is the easiest to clean, that I've ever had. This is the only one I use now. I've had one other from this brand. It was a warm/cool mist, bottom filling, in the black color... it was still very easy to clean and a great humidifier. I love that you can have warm mist on this new one, in quiet mode!! That is what sold me, to buy this new style. I love that it comes apart and you can scrub all the different areas. I bought a white one so that I can see if it is getting dirty immediately. I love that it's a top fill. I fill it up almost every night and I deep clean it once a week with vinegar. I hate sinus infections, and I have really bad allergies. This has helped me immensely. I mostly use the heat option, and I usually keep it set to 30%. Sometimes it lasts 2 days(Just depends on how dry it is with the heat on). But in the winter in the Midwest, it is very dry. I highly recommend this humidifier.

I bought the white model in Oct 2020. Here are some cons and pros: Pros: - the design is chic and clean - top fill; 3-level settings for heat & humidity; screen-off function (no annoying lights during sleep!) - oil diffuser & remote control worked as expected. (p.s., oils from REVIVE did not seem to have a strong enough scent even with the highest heat setting but another oil product was compatible) - the noise level was ok. I had about 2wks of adapting phase during night as it makes boiling sounds with the high heat setting - structure is not among the top for the ease of cleaning but not too difficult either. In addition to the small brush that came with the product, I use sponge stick sold in stores for water bottle cleaning and it works well Con: - humidistat stopped working after approx. 6 months of usage. It did not go above 20% even during heavy rainy days. Uncertain of the cause. It could have been a mistake on my end while cleaning (Have to be very careful not to spill water inside the main engine. Some improvements can be expected on the structure). *** Emailed Elechomes on humidistat issue. They recommended drying the product and cleaning the parts with dry cloth which did not work for me. Eventually, they sent me a new product (18 months exchange warranty; black model cause the white one was out of stock but I did not mind)! The new one functions perfectly. The interaction was very smooth and they responded with courteous manners. The whole process took approx. 2wks including delivery which could have been faster as I wasn't so prompt on email responses. Overall, I fully recommend this product.

So far so good. It took a couple of days running it to achieve my desired 50% humidity level, but then it automatically shut off and came back on when the humidity drops below 45%. It’s very easy to use and the top filling feature is great. Also the remote is very convenient. I am however, somewhat disappointed in the fact that immediately after I bought mine on Prime for $132.00 the price dropped to $99.00. With tax I paid $141.00 so I really feel like I got taken. Other than that it is a quality product. I purchased it to humidify a very small condo that is less than 750 sq ft. I need to maintain humidity between 45% & 55% to protect my very expensive hand made acoustic guitar and it’s doing the job just fine. I’m also impressed with how much better I feel. My sinuses are no longer dry and I don’t wake up with a dry throat anymore either. Great product with many great benefits.

I haven't used a humidifier before. From some reviews here I had concerns about the noise level and water accumulating underneath/around. I was very pleased to find that this is quite quiet, even at the highest settings. Really quiet. There also was no water accumulating anywhere. The operating instructions are some of the best I have ever read. I suggest reading them a few times before operating. (I often don't read instructions too carefully if a device is similar to something I've used before or it looks like something simple to use - which doesn't always turn out to be the case.) Although the water reservoir can be carried to a sink to refill, I decided that it's just as easy to refill with a few quarts from the top. That way no water sloshes out while carrying it. It also means that I don't have to jiggle the reservoir around while filled with water to be able to seat it properly. It could be that some people who have some leaky water have spilled it while getting it seated or haven't gotten it seated quite properly. It is harder to seat while filled with water. A very fine mist comes out the top. It has not resulted in any accumulation of dampness around the device. I have soft water which could be why I haven't had any white powdery accumulation that some reviewers have commented on. Lastly, I had to contact the Seller about an issue not related to the functioning of the humidifier. I received a very prompt and satisfactory response.

So far very disappointed. There were a few reasons I picked this unit over many other choices. First it had a big tank that I thought would last quite a while. Second, it was top load and it looked like you could easily open the top to pour in a glass of water. Third, it was larger than what I needed for my mom's small bedroom. Also, it was easy to work and had a display to tell you about the humidity in the room, was quiet, and safe. The big tank was nice, but it went through water faster than what I expected. Read the fine print to tell you that it lasts 55 hours on cool mist low setting. Even at a low heat, it looks like it will go through water pretty fast. And in my mom's small bedroom, it still never read that it increases the humidity very much. Also, the picture of pouring the glass of water in the top misled me into thinking there was a lift up lid on a hinge that you could then pour the water in the tank. You have to take the lid off, and it does not easily come off and go on again. This is difficult for my elderly mom to do. With the hot water inside, they suggest that you wait for it to cool down. By then you have lost humidity in the room and have to start over. Plus, if you do this before the water is cooled down the cumbersome lid makes this a further safety hazard. I thought I would like the remote for the ease of turning on and off. But for some reason I have to press the on button twice to turn it on. I also thought I would like that you can make the lights go away, which is good for sleeping. However, it does not save this setting. Every time I turn it on, I also have to select the button to have the lights go out. The controls are very annoying. It you don't turn the panel lights out, it is constantly blinking the humidity numbers when you are trying to sleep. Very annoying. The positive is it is quiet. I probably would not have ordered this, if I had more time. But this was one day delivery and I needed one for my mom right away. She needs another one and I probably won't be getting another one of these.

UODATE: apparently I got a faulty one initially. The company sent me a replacement and it does NOT turn itself back on in sleep mode as described below. I’m so happy with this humidifier! This humidifier is easy to fill, easy to clean, sleek and beautiful, has great features. I highly recommend it! Thanks for the excellent customer service!! Stupid programming. I run it every night on sleep mode, with the display light off, but when the water runs out it turns the display ON and flashes brightly. Wakes my child up. If I walk over and push the on off button it beeps, and I have to press three times to turn it off - and even then it’s not really off- it turns the display light back on to say it’s out of water again after a few minutes. The only way to stop it is to unplug it. If you don’t have it on sleep mode it will BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEP and then flash indefinitely. The machine itself is great. Bad programming if you want to sleep. Not an issue when the water lasts all night but in winter in Colorado our air is so dry the water runs out at dawn.

Bought this product for my house plans because I have a hard time keeping humidity in my apartment. I honestly thought that purchasing this product would be overkill because my apartment is extremely small, meanwhile this can deal with rooms up to 750 square feet. So I purchased this thinking that I wouldn't have to refill it constantly because of the size of my apartment which I hate doing. However this product made me realize how drafty my apartment is, and to keep my apartment around 60% humidity unfortunately this product has to be going almost constantly with an hour or so stop so I do end up refilling it in the morning before I go to work and then before I go to sleep just to make sure my plants won't run out if I'm not home or sleeping. But the constant refilling has nothing to do with the product itself, it's because of my apartment and how it was built. Besides that, I absolutely love this product, It's extremely quiet and produces a thick cloud of humidity in the air. It was working so well that my windows even started collecting condensation so I had to lower the power level down to the minimum. I also keep it on the lowest warm mist setting because my apartment is so drafty, I feel that it helps introduce more warmth to my plants. My Maranta and calatheas thank me every day, they're no longer dying. 😂 10/10 I would totally purchase another one if I ever have a need for it.
