Bad thermostat
First, as someone else posted here, when I tried to remove the protective plastic from the face of the device, the faceplate came off with the plastic. I was able to press it back into place and it seemed to stick ok, but no idea about long-term use.The controls were ok. A little touchy but not hard to figure out.First use, heated water and checked the temp with two other thermometers. They indicated it was heating a little hot (about 3 degrees higher than the digital setting), but I figured I could adjust accordingly (I set it to 126 to get an actual temp of 129).The circulator worked fine--very quiet--so I placed a couple T-bones in the water and set the timer on my phone.Went back a couple times and checked things--temp was holding steady at 129, no worries. At some time in the last 90 minutes, though (between 90 and 120 minutes), something went wrong. Nearing completion, I checked the pot and while the digital setting still said 126 degrees, the device showed a "current temp" of 150+.The water was NOT 150 degrees--it was about the temp of hot water from the tap--so I checked it: 116 and falling.Because the thermostat in this system "thought" the water was hot, it wasn't heating the water, so the water was cooling.I did everything I could think of to reset the device but nothing worked. Even after powering off, etc., the device still thought the cooling water was over 150.I contacted the seller, who advised me to request a refund or replacement through Amazon for fastest service. I have now requested a replacement just to see if it will be any better.Fingers crossed.Until I know more, I'm giving a generous 2 stars.

Defective unit, Requesting for a replacement please
I was extremely happy with this device up until the point that it malfunctioned and stopped working altogether, which unfortunately, lasted only about one and a half months. The upper portion of the device detached, exposing the inner wiring and when I attempted to close it, it never turned on again. I never used any excessive force to detach the upper portion (photos) so I can only assume the construction is inadequate at best. In an attempt to get a replacement, Amazon advised me that I would have to contact the company, Remacusus, directly. I cannot seem to find any contact information, so as a last ditch effort, I’m writing a poor review in hopes of getting their attention so that my predicament can be addressed. Again, I enjoyed using this item, but it literally fell apart only one and a half months into owning it. I’m assuming my unit was defective and would be willing to receive another.

Second one works great
The first unit I got was broken out of the box. It would trip the GFI outlet it was plugged into. I got a replacement in two days and was pleased that this one worked perfectly. I did not deduct the star for the defective unit. I only awarded 4 stars because there are a couple of things I find annoying about the unit and software app. 1. it takes longer to bring the water up to temp than I expected for a unit advertised at 1100W. It is virtually no quicker than the 800W unit I had before. 2. When I set a time and temp it does not start the timer until the temp is reached. I realize this might make sense in a way but I had an older manual unit and now I have to re-figure out all of my standard recipes again.

This is A Must Buy!!
Got this sous vide to back up to my Anova and this thing performs exactly the same. What I really enjoy about the similarities other than the performance is the size, it’s exactly the same so the container and cover is completely compatible to this one. The containers are interchangeable which make it a breeze and that means it'll fit on any sous vide accessory.

Fell apart.
I like the ease of use and precision. Heated water quickly. Worked great up until today. The plastic cap that covers the circulator at the very bottom has broken. I’ve only and it six months. I'm betting the manufacturer won't care as they are no longer available through amazon anyhow.

Super cheaply made did not work.
The quality is this cooker is like something you’ll buy at a flee market. It did not work right out of the box and spent two hours fiddling with it. The app is a generic third person app and was never able to connect. Instructions are terrible. Overall if you are going to spend this amount of money spend the small difference and get a quality unit. I do not recommend.
