The Most Helpful Book I've Ever Read!
I've been a huge fan of Chalene's since she came onto the scene around 2006 with the Turbo Jam workouts. I received this book for Christmas the year it came out. Although I enjoyed it then, I only half-heartedly went through day by day and completed each task. At that time, I was more interested in the chapters regarding fitness and nutrition. But recently, I pulled this book off my bookshelf and decided to actually DO IT this time, step by step, day by day. Today I'm a couple weeks in and am really enjoying it! Chalene does a great job of breaking everything down in a way that anyone can follow it and understand the content. It really is so much more than just a diet and fitness book--it can help you organize your life and get into the right mindset to reach your goals. I know for me personally, it really made me think about my priorities. When I feel like flopping down on the couch to binge watch reality TV, I now stop to think, "is this the most productive thing I could be doing right now? Am I making the most out of my time?" It has really put things into perspective. There's been a lot of people stating that they think this is just a book written by Chalene to brag about herself, and while hearing about her successes can tend to make one feel that their life is "subpar," I think you just have to look at it as her providing inspiration. She talks about struggles too which makes it more real. I didn't find it "braggy" at all, I was actually grateful for her personal stories because they were examples of whatever the topic was for that day. Like sometimes she'd be going on about something that didn't quite make sense to me, then she'd throw in her personal experience and then the light bulb would come on and I would understand it better. As far as others not liking the photos throughout the book, I liked them. While obviously the important content of the book is the words, the photos are nice to look at. As a woman who turned 40 this year, I look at those photos of Chalene and feel inspired. I mean, the woman is going on 50 and she looks incredible. I look at her and think to myself that turning 40 doesn't mean giving up and trading cute clothes in for frumpy old lady clothes. Chalene is proof that age doesn't matter--it's how you take care of yourself, not how many birthdays you've had. And hello, she's got a beautiful family--I'd want to show them off too if I were her. Go easy on her, people.I actually love this book so much that I got the Audible version of it too. Now I can listen to it when I'm getting ready for work in the morning, in the shower or going to bed at night. I just turn it on when I go to bed and let it play. It helps me fall asleep and I can't help but hope that hearing it read to me while I sleep will somehow subconsciously ingrain the content into my head :)If you are a fan of Chalene's workouts, give this book a try. If you want to get your life organized but aren't sure where to start, give this book a try. If you want to start a fitness journey but aren't sure where to start, give this book a try. Chalene is awesome and this book will help you if you let it :)

100% CHALENE
The thing about Chalene Johnson is that you either love her or you just don't get her at all. I happen to love her, which is probably a good thing for a reviewer of this book. Are there earth shattering revelations in this book? Nope, nothing that hasn't been said often and possibly better by other writers on goal setting, time management, fitness and motivation. It's just that Chalene puts her own twist on each segment.I've listened to all of Chalene's podcasts at least once, follow her on all her social media platforms and have taken her free on-line courses. As she repurposes all of her material, it's hard for me to gauge how impactful this book might have been when it first came out. This is a fun, easy read. As a personal development junkie, I still found some of Chalene's suggestions actually enhance advice I've received from other writers in the genre.

Review of book PUSH
I read the book PUSH a while back and just haven't had a chance to write a review.I do like her open dialogue throughout the book and felt very "girl next door". I do like the part about writing a priority statement with which to identify your goals and how you set boundaries with other people , this helped me quite a bit during my brief stint as a fitness instructor. I think she identifies some great tools for brainstorming, not holding back and identifying goals and how to reverse engineer one's goals. I liked the exercises and a few of the recipes in the back. Some of them were so basic I was a bit shocked they were considered as a part of the book.I did not like the many many large pictures of Chalene simply performing tasks that really did not seem to serve any purpose to her message. Honestly I felt like I Had to read the book because I thought I wanted to go on this career path with her company and even though she kept saying it wasn't a "diet" book, for the most part it most definitely was a diet book. Yes, there was some goal setting, but it was mostly about fitness and dieting. Personally, felt the book slowly began to unravel and I began to loss interest. It seemed very hurried with lots of "picture filler" and common sense information (after the reverse engineering).I do think that the overall theme of the book was good and her heart was in the right place about helping people. Honestly, I like -Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire Turbo Kick part Chalene's personality the best. I guess what I find confusing is in the book referred to Brian Tracy telling her to not "go all Hollywood" and as of right now, she has "gone all Hollywood." I do not know maybe that's what happens when you get a "banging body" (I didn't care for that verbiage at all)Maybe off topic, maybe she could care less what people who were her followers at one time think anymore, but I stopped following her because the humility combined with that beautiful confidence she had during her Turbo Days seems to have vanished. I know she incessantly posts that she nor should anyone who wants to be successful should care what people think, and I absolutely to some degree, agree with those statements. I do think you have to shrug off haters to PUSH forward, absolutely. However, if the really GOOD PARTS of a person are being sucked into vanity and there seems to be a lack of realism or sincerity in their demeanor, I as that person would want to know if I were sending that message. That's my personal opinion. I think that she is /was sucha fabulous instructor, and I'm trying to write a review that doesn't come across as hateful.I would want to know if it were me.Overall, I think she is fabulous instructor is beyond amazing as a fitness expert. Even thought I'm not teaching, I still do Turbo and it never gets old. I LOVE Turbo. I get a little miffed when she claims to an expert at 25 different other areas. You can be an expert some things but trying to be an expert at everything, spreads you so thin, you just don't seem to appear real to me anymore.Keeping it real!
