The Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2020

A worthy effort but not as comprehensive as I'd like.
A worthy effort, but there is little or no information about many brands and models that many guitarists are curious about. For example I was looking to sell my D'Angelico EXL-1 and could not find pricing for it. Pricing was also off for Vintage Ibanez AS200's. You're not going to see one in excellent condition for $900-$1200 in 2020! I also could not find pricing on items like my Fender '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb, or my Fender Tonemaster Deluxe Reverb, or for my Louis Electric Deltone, when I wanted to sell them. All that said, it is an impossible task to maintain accurate and up-to-date pricing information on every make and model of gear out there, so I give it a 4 out 5 for the effort.

Eager to learn guitar lover
This is a very in depth manual. I was surprised to find the items I thought were worth a lot are not and some things I have abused or let out and never gotten back are worth a lot now. Live and Learn I guess. I bought this not to become a trader but really because I just love guitars. It's an art and fun to collect. This catalog I believe will enhances my passion and hobby. I recommend this for all true troglys and check out troglys guitar show on YouTube.

Brevity and ommisions
Providing info about every vintage guitar ever made is a formidable task, and would require a very thick book. This one comes up short. The reviews are brief, and there are lots of omissions. Don't buy it. You can ascertain the value of any given guitar by doing a little research on line. If it was more complete and detailed it would be a great coffee table book, but it's not. Suggested values seem a little low, based upon my knowledge.

Must have price guide
This is the must have price guide if you are in the Guitar biz, buying, selling or trading this guide provides you with the knowledge of what the market is and helps you determine what the value is for the guitar you are looking to buy or sell. Don't get ripped off by these vintage guitar flippers on Reverb, Marketplace or craigslist looking to make a buck at your expense. Arm yourself with knowledge and go into the market with a grip on what guitars are currently valued at.

Fairly useful but far from exhaustive listings
Great reference book for mainstream guitars. Good luck if you are trying to appraise a less main-stream axe.

Good resourse
Using this to give me a ballpark price on items I have and items that I will buy in the future.

The best price guide!
This is the "blue book" on guitar, banjo, ukulele, bass & amplifier values.

Not really relevant for the UK market.
Why did I waste my money on this?Totally irrelevant for the European market and apparently inaccurate for the US market as well. If you can find a guitar on the open market priced anywhere near the valuations listed in this book BUY IT because you'll basically be stealing it. The information given is limited and there are glaring omissions from the listings. Yes there may be 1500 photos but they're all in black and white..... frankly at 25GBP I feel like I've paid for a book and been sent junk mail.
