I'm never buying a regular sized yoga mat again!
This mat is amazing!!!I'm never going back to a regular sized yoga mat.So my shopping mission began when I wanted to get something for myself and my 9 month old baby to play on. Something that could be multipurpose for yoga, gym exercises and also playing, learning to crawl, walking and toddling on. I originally was going to purchase those foam tiles that click together but I really wanted something that could be quickly/easily stowed as I live in a 1BR apartment.First I noticed the price. The regular sized mats from Lululemon a popular yoga brand are $60. So I was comfortable spending an extra $40 to get an even bigger sized mat that was thicker. I think it is a slightly premium price for a mat, but after using this product I can vouch that it is indeed a premium product and I feel that the value is worth it.Next, space. W O W. I have so much room to move around! I can practice yoga while my baby plays and when she is trying to crawl up my legs while I'm stretching I can just rotate 90 degrees and continue my practice. It is unreal! I have some foam rollers and I can just sprawl on them and roll around all over and not worry about laying on the floor because I'm always cushioned by it's luxurious foam. It is the best!Comfort. I've used a lot of mats and I tend to go for a lighter weight thinner mat, and it's been years since I've used a thicker mat, but I really love it. This mat is thick and luxurious. Almost like memory foam, you kind of sink into it and it feels really good.Sticks to the floor. This mat stays under your feet and isn't moving. It's got a special side that you put down on the floor and its like magic it just stays put. This has been awesome for my baby as she learns to pull up on things and walk, I feel relieved knowing that it's not going anywhere while she puts her weight on it.Super easy to store. Takes seconds to clean and roll up. The towel it comes with is super handy too. I just put it behind my couch when I have company or I need it out of the way. Rolls up very easily and isn't too heavy.Colour. Black is really nice and the gorilla emblem on it is a nice touch. Easy to take pictures on.I haven't tested it outside yet, but look forward to taking it on some adventures!!This mat is easily the best purchase under $100 that I've made in a very long time.Buy it!!I'll add some photos once I get time!

It’s big (2 in picture)
Arrived at the end of July and on delivery time. The mat itself:The Good:-came with a free gym towel-came with straps and sleeve for storage-came with pvc pipe to roll it on-feels good-the price is goodThe Bad-the only issue i could see is the material probably would not be suitable for dropping weights on. But then again this is a yoga mat.Overall: 4.5/5

Two large creases in middle of mat
The mat is great...except it arrived with two very long creases in the center of the mat. We’ve had it unrolled for three days and they aren’t going away. It was probably just poorly rolled before shipping. I’m disappointed since it takes up the whole center and it’s brand new. I looked into returning it but it looks like we’d have to pay shipping and I would think that cost would be considerable since this is huge. Would not buy again; I messaged the seller but did not hear back.

stays put just like it is supposed to
No smell at all, stays put just like it is supposed to. On an engineered wood bamboo floor over concrete and I am considering getting the exercise mat in the same size to put over it or under it depending on shoes/no shoes mood. It is pretty comfortable but my old bones could use a little more padding. The 8mm is thicker than the others I saw but I'm thinking a solid 14+mm would feel a lot better on such a hard floor as I have.

good quality mat
This is a good quality mat. It provides good grip and cushioning. The velcro straps included for holding the rolled up mat tight work much better than elastic straps. The rolled up mat fits back into the storage bag with ease. It is rare you can get something back into the bag it came in. The mat does have a slight rubber/vinyl smell when new. The smell is dissipating after using it. I have used it seven times now and the smell is close to gone. A few more uses and the smell will be gone. I would buy this mat again, but I probably will not have to because this one looks like it will last forever.

Very delicate and damages very easily.
When removing the “protective” wrap we noticed many holes in the mat. Unfortunate because it’s soft and thick, but perhaps too soft. I found scratching it with my finger nail with medium pressure caused a hole to form. Wouldn’t recommend.

Very good mat
I have had a standard size warrior yoga mat for several years now. Is a good mat, but I wanted something bigger. Saw the gorilla mat and thought about buying it for quite awhile. I hesitated because of the price and not being sure how solid it would be for standing poses, with it being so thick. The firmness of the mat makes doing standing poses very good when it comes to balance. The thickness makes doing roll ups or teaser exercises very comfortable on the backside. I do roll this mat up after every workout which is a little cumbersome, but the comfort and extra mat space is totally worth that small imconvenience.

Nice Mat
Very pleased with this mat. Thickness is comparable to an extra-thick yoga mat. One side is softer/less durable than the other; I believe this side, which is a little stickier, is meant to go down. Perhaps people who have had trouble with durability were placing the mat with this side up? It's pretty sturdy. I roll my water-rower over/on it daily to use it then again to store it, and it shows no signs of wear. It compresses easily, but springs back once the pressure is relieved. I use the mat mostly for floor exercise; I don't do a lot of jumping around on it so I can't comment about that. It did have a bit of an odor when first opened, but it didn't permeate the room and dissipated pretty quickly. I'm sensitive to off-gasses (frequently have to put things outside for a few days to air), and I had no trouble with this.
