It's hard to say for sure if it's working or not. I use a high zink formula oil, but add a bottle of zddp just for added insurance.

Great anti-wear engine oil additive. Zinc and Phosphorous have been added to motor oils for almost 100 years, however the Zinc and Phosphorous levels in today's modern motor oils have been steadily decreasing. Car manufacturers claim Zn & Phos poison the catalytic converters, and don't want to be on the hook for the cost of the cats if they fail before the Federally mandated emission warranty period is over, so they (asked) oil refiners to come up with something different. Notice I didn't say come up with something better.Many refiners are now using Boron as one of the anti-wear additives and decreasing Zn/Phos levels. While the long term effects are yet to be seen, I like knowing my engine is protected by the tried and true Zinc and Phosphorous combination.For a vehicle with a 4, 5, or 6 quart oil capacity I add 1/3 to 1/2 bottle of ZDDP Plus to a fresh oil change.I also use it in all my outdoor power equipment-lawnmowers, snowblowers, pressure washers, etc., but only add 1 tablespoonful to the fresh oil change.I have been able to monitor the engine wear metsls by a using used oil analysis lab.I will continue to use this product as long as it is available.The handling and shipping of the order was super fast----on my doorstep in less than 3 days, and at the best price I could find anywhere

This is the genuine article to protect older flat tappet engines and 4 stroke outboard motors. Don't be fooled be sound alike products that are not genuine. This will protect your engine cam and lifters from excessive wear due to cold starts and high revs and just regular use. Can not beat the price!

This ZDDP is especially needed in older flat tappet cam shafts either mechanical or hydraulic . As a engine builder i use it in all Hi Performance engines (even roller motors) due to todays off the shelf oils not having it or having enough. This stuff really does help with premature wear.

I have a 1959 Ford with a 292 V-8. It has flat tappets and as such needs zinc as a lubricant to keep those from wearing out. However thanks to our ever intrusive government oil companies are putting very little if any zinc in oil anymore. There are now some oils geared to the old car hobby with sufficient zinc in it. If you don't use that oil and if your car does not have hydraulic lifters you need to add this product to your oil.
