Another great TOPS Knife.
Love the design of this knife as well as the edge geometry. Cuts wood easily and came razor sharp. TOPS fit and finish as well as their heat treat is amazing. The leather sheath is well built with quality leather and the belt loop has a button with allowed me to add a d-ring and leather belt keeper loop to convert it to a dangler sheath. The 1095 steel is uncoated so you will need to keep it coated with mineral oil, frog lube. SENTRY, or some other protectant to prevent rust. You can always force a patina to help protect it.Overall a great small woodscan knife

Great knife, perfect size. ¶€@©€
Just received my tops trekker about a week ago and just as I expected it's a solid knife.Love it! Perfect backpacking, hiking, outdoor use knife. Also has a pretty fine tip, good for self defense. Love the micarta handles a lot as well. I own the mini scandi, but the trekker is a little bigger and I prefer the size. Not too big or too small. If your looking at this there's a good chance it's what your looking for. I also prefer it over the esee 3 & 4. But those are also great knives. Highly recommend this knife.

Good Knife, But
Good overall knife, but would be a great knife if the handle was 1/2 inch longer to grip with your pinkie finger. DO NOT trust the snap that holds the sheath on your belt. This snap system sounds good for easy on easy off, but the first time out wearing it I almost lost the whole thing. I was bending over a stream working and just luckily happened to look down and there was my knife and sheath lying next to my foot. The snap had come undone and off the belt it went. If I wouldn't have looked down just then it would probably have been lost forever as its color blends in pretty well with grass and dirt. When I got home I epoxied the snap closed, but might just make another sheath so I don't have to worry about it. I really like the knife otherwise.

Great looking, comfortable, mediocre knife.
Having used this knife for 6 months now, I figure I have enough time in use to write a thorough review. I thought I bought this from Amazon, but I guess I may have purchased it from another vendor. This is currently my EDC. I use it for utility and it is my companion knife when hammock camping and backpacking. The ergonomics are what drew me to this knife and they don't disappoint. The handle is just big enough that my pinky gets decent purchase against the micarta. The grip is excellent, the shape is super comfortable. I processed an entire piece of firewood down to shavings (much to the chagrin of my wife, who was quite displeased at the mess that I made in the living room :p ...). No hot-spots for me, your mileage may vary. The jimping is perfect to me. Slightly aggressive without being aggravating to use.The sheath is poor quality. Condor supplies better leather sheaths with their knives than this. Very disappointing. The stitching is poorly done, is already fraying and coming undone in multiple spots. I will probably end up riveting this sheath once it falls apart. I give it another 6 months and that's if I don't sell it first. The knife looks fantastic. It's very pleasing to the eye. This is my second TOPS knife. This one suffers from deplorable finishing, just as the Brother of Bushcraft knife I bought years ago does. Out of the box, this knife would only gouge wood. It was virtually unusable for any task beyond cutting tape to open a box. It only took me 5 minutes on each side of a 1k waterstone (all my waterstones are Shapton Pro) to figure out that the grind was done to complete amateur, first time knife maker levels. As demonstrated by the pictures, the scandi primary has a significant hollow in it.It took me 10 minutes at 220 and 20 minutes at 400 to get this thing to a base grind that would take a proper sharpening. And because I did not want to grind away several millimeters of steel, the hollow that was monkeyed into this thing still exists, nearly to the edge of the knife at a couple spots. In fact, on the logo side of the knife, near the choil, I still could not get the grind evened out and I have spent as much time as I care to fixing another person's work. If I keep the knife, eventually that spot will get sharpened away.I finished the sharpening with a 1k, 8k and a strop block. All my knives are hand sharpened, convex geometry, little to no secondary bevel. It's quite sharp, but edge holding is mediocre. I am not impressed with the "differential heat treat" on either TOPS knife, which are both 1095 steel. I have ESEEs that are quite superior in edge holding and those are also 1095. I have the Condor Bushlore, which is 1075, and holds a better edge (slightly).Frankly, I will not buy another TOPS product. The product does not justify the price. 1095 is as basic a steel as you can use and TOPS is not doing it well at all in my opinion.I should have dropped an extra $60 or so and bought a Bark River Mini Aurora.

This knife is a work horse.
I use this every day in construction I abuse it in every way u should not use a knife it just wont quit. I put a new edge on it about once a week to keep it nice and sharp. Only issue is it will cut right through the leather sheeth if ur not watching when putting it back in.

Another great TOPS Product
Another great TOPS Product. Razor sharp, awesome scandi grind and really nice leather sheath. I made some feather sticks and other fine works with no problems. Perfect size for small camp chores or bushcraft uses.
