Easy Home Automation
I had been interested in home automation for years but I was holding off because many of the components seemed to have range or reliability issues and the hub or software to control them was usually overly complicated for my needs. This system is simple can could not be easier to set up. They spent a lot of time planning out the user experience and nailed it.For example it uses the iPhone's camera flash to set up the hub, sending the info to an optical sensor. All you have to do is hold the phone there and let the magic happen. Beyond cool. I also love how you can control everything from anywhere, you don't have to be on your home network. Some setups would require your router to forward ports - not having to do any of that setup was a huge plus. The range of the hub is pretty good and we've found it to be very reliable. We have it integrated with two thermostats by Trane and some lights. Doing everything through the app interface is genius. I hope that they continue to update the app and add new programming features. One I thought of would be an Auto-Off - so you could turn on a light and have it automatically shut off after a period of time - 30min, 1hr etc.One tip is to not test the range until the hub and receivers have had some time to find each other. Right after plugging it in it seemed to have problems finding the switches - after 20 min it was all working flawlessly.Overall I think you'll be really pleased with this system especially if simplicity and ease of use are primary concerns.

Excellent system but lacking in Android support
Although support for Android is currently limited (which I see as a huge disadvantage), the system is very good. It has a large variety of devices by various different manufacturers and systems that it supports, and the list continues to grow.My only caution would be to anyone buying this system who owns Android devices that you would like to use when operating this system. Although they support Android, the Android app is significantly limited in functionality in comparison to the iOS application. And there is no web interface as a fall-back, so you *must* own an iOS device in order to use most functionality.I would recommend anyone who is looking at purchasing one of these and who uses Android to contact the development staff on the support forum to request Android be fully supported. http://support.revolv.com/forums/234748-device-support-requests

Great potential and customer support!!! Crude app and software
I have had the Revolv hub for the past 3 weeks. Thanks to Amazon, I discovered Revolv back in October '13 before it was released. I must say that the only reason that I have this hub is because it was 50% off in Amazon's Warehouse Deals, otherwise I would not have bought it.Installation was very simple, however it was buggy. You just download the Revolv app, enter your router password into the app and then hold up your iPhone next to the Revolv. The iPhone flashes your router password to Revolv and then it connects to your network. In no time Revolv starts detecting devices and adds them to the hub. This is where problems started; I have 3 Nest thermostats, but the hub only detected 2 of them. What's more it confused the assigned named of the thermostats! It also changed the name of 2 of my Sonos players to the generic "Sonos Player". It did this not only in the Revolv app, but also in the Sonos app. So I sent an email to Revolv support, which was answered within 8 working hours as promised in the Revolv website. This was during the weekend and I was asked to give them some time while support staff came back to work on Monday. On Monday, I called support and the call was answered within 5 minutes by Kristin, who happened to be the same person that answered my prior email. Kristin remembered my case and told me that she was going to research my issue. I went ahead and performed a reset to the hub. The reset solved the problem with the undetected Nest thermostat; however this time I got a duplicate WEMO switch! The following are the "devices" that I have and that are working with Revolv: 11 Sonos players, 3 Nest thermostats, 4 WEMO receptacles, 1 WEMO switch, 3 GE Z-Wave switches and 1 GE Z-Wave duplex receptacle. Being Wi-Fi Sonos, Nest, WEMO and Hue are automatically detected by Revolv, while Z-Wave and Insteon devices have to be manually added. When I added the GE Z-Wave receptacle, it was added as a switch, but is working fine.As you can see, the Revolv app is a little crude. There is no way to organize devices or to manually delete devices. However, Revolv promise that these are coming in the near future. Also, macros or "Actions" are not intuitive to set up; even though they look easy.So I had the Revolv hub for3 weeks and I was doing with it nothing different that I could do with the native apps for the devices. If anything, the Revolv app is more restrictive and buggy than the native apps... It wasn't until I was able to finally figure out how to set up multiple "Actions" that I said WOW and realized the full potential of Revolv! I created an Action that I called "Watch TV". At the press of a button, the family room lights (Z-Wave), living room lamps (WEMO) are turned off, the kitchen lights are dimmed and the Nest thermostat temperature is adjusted! In the future, if Logitech Harmony support is provided, I could also turn my TV and entertainment system on as part of the Action. And now, if I had drapes and the proper device, the drapes could be close as part of the same Action. I have other Actions that turn the lights on after watching TV. I'm also thinking of creating an Action that by using a motion detector the bathroom Sonos player is turned on, when entering the area. The problem is that the current software does not provide device shutdown when inactive, but is coming as per Revolv. As you can see, even though the Revolv software and app are a little crude, they are very promising. These people are committed to solve the current issues and provide more functionality. When you call support, a real person in Colorado answers the call. It is not somebody in India reading from a script. Right now, I'm loving my Revolv hub!!!

Use Apple's HomeKit. Purchased by Google / Nest = 1 Star
Revolv was purchased by Google / Nest. Product has been discontinued.Below was my original review:Intergalactically Awesome Product !!I've done a lot of automation in my life. Nothing has been easier to set up.Just install the free iPhone app and you're a few taps away from having everything work. (Works with iPad too.)In just a few seconds I was able to recognize and control 7 Aeon Labs DSC24-ZWUS Z-Wave Switches.http://www.amazon.com/Aeon-Labs-DSC24-ZWUS-Switch-Appliance/dp/B00EZ6LJU0/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_tSupport is also done in the United States with English speaking experts. A first-class product with support like it was in the 1950s.Yes, it costs a little more than other alternatives but the pain it saves is well worth a few extra dollars.
