DO NOT...I REPEAT...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY..... it's foam board type material, the light is in the pen and you have to push a button on the side of the pen to make it work. I bought this for an 18mth old just to scribble with to develop motor skills. This was going to be a Christmas present unfortunately it will not end up as that. This is something that you would find at the Dollar Store and that's still to much to pay for it.

Piece of crap, it's a piece of shiny foam board that came all crushed in the corners.

The drawing pad was bigger than I thought, my kids loved this and it entertained them for hours...

This is a great gift for a toddler or young child. The board is bigger than I expected, but incredibly lightweight. And the best part of all is that it is mess-free!
