beware of memory training.
If you want gen5 and ITX this is basically your only option. You could go intel, but why would you want to do that? Overpriced but if you're a baller you probably won't care. If your PC does not turn on and you get a black screen for more than a minute just keep it on. Chances are the memory is training. You can always disable it from the bios but I would keep it on if you don't intend on regularly shutting down your computer. I've had memory training that has taken over 10 minutes to finish. Besides that this board is pretty solid especially in delivery and IO.

Unstable, frequent crashes, disappointing design from ASUS
Read other reviews, but long story short, ASUS really rushed this one out. Just some of the issues I've experienced in ~4 months: - board sometimes posts, sometimes hangs with a blank screen. this happened on the original (nov '22) firmware, and it is still happening on latest firmware (non-beta channel as of mar '23, see other reviews, this is not an isolated issue) - since latest firmware upgrade, Win11 BSoDs when idling (see other reviews, this is not an isolated issue) - don't install armory crate if you can help it. it installs about half a dozen additional bloatware. the sound enhancement app, in particular, was crashing Win11 so frequently i ended up removing it (it kept a background process after uninstall, so there was some manual clean up involved) - others have mentioned the arrangement of the SATA ports (for which you need on the weird vertical motherboard adapter) makes it impossible to use with most standard SATA cables. the most common direction used for 90 degree angled SATA connectors won't work, so expect to track down a inverted angled connector on Amazon if you really need SATA - USB power cutouts (see other reviews) That's 4 months. This is not a good board. I've been building PC for myself and others for 20 years, and this might be the worst experience I've had with a "high end" board.

Not ASUS quality
Check reviews elsewhere, including Reddit. This motherboard was rushed to market. One frequent issue discussed is how the USB ports suddenly disappear, leaving you without a mouse, keyboard, and peripherals. I tried upgrading to a 1000W PSU to see if it was a power draw issue. But I still see it. Another common complaint is that it won't resume after suspend. Eventually, two months later, it just decided it's not going to post. I have the latest firmware installed, a default non-OC configuration, standard name brand components (including ASUS GPU), and it doesn't work. ASUS: do better!

ABSURDLY good motherboard
Despite all the craptastic reviews this board has across the board I personally haven't had a single issue yet after a month of owning it. The features it posses are absolutely mind blowing for a gamer and makes me wish moar ATX motherboards had features close to this guy โค

WOW - Just a overpriced bad itx motherboard
Overall it works. Not my first itx build and not my first high end ASUS motherboard. This is the only one I have ever felt was not good. For the price, you would think that this motherboard would be better thought out. First off is the audio. There is no audio on the motherboard. It is on/in the external unit (usb) and only has audio out and headset in. It is fairly large 3 inch per side triangle that is going to take up space on your desk. Main feature of this is a large volume knob (which I do not feel like a lot of people need or would use). Bad part of this is that it is itx and most people will be using the pcie slot for a graphics card so you might need to purchase a smaller usb audio device. Second issue is this small board for usb 2 and sata. Likely people are going to need one usb2 port or a sata port but not 2 of each. One of each could have been put on the motherboard directly instead of this add on board. After a few months I am looking to switch this out and will likely purchase something else and move the nvme and processor over to it. Ultimately the system works but does not feel high end. Feels like a poorly designed not well thought out motherboard. I would highly suggest purchasing another motherboard that is not full of gimmicks that provide no value.

Horrible
Board was great, now less than a year later it is broken. Some issue happened and the RAID controller quit working and it has issues coming out of sleep and will just sit there not booting and get hot, really hot. Also every bios update claims to fix issues with stability, it never does. Avoid this headache of a board and go buy another brand. ASUS sucks now.

Overpriced with bad coding and spyware
So performance wise this motherboard is generally fine but the price is crazy considering you can get a Gigabyte b850M with better memory specs for $149.99. What makes me dislike this purchase is 2 things, it comes with a program that masquerades as a computer enhancer that has been proven to be nothing but spyware. If you delete it, it will reinstall it per the bios which has a toggle to keep it off the system, but anytime the bios updates, it turns the toggle back on so it reappears. Hyper annoying Second, if you play a game with the "Easy Anti-Cheat" sub program such as Goddess of Victory Nikke or Elden Ring Nightreign, this motherboard has an interaction with that where it will just shut down whatever game you're playing or the computer because the coding is bad for it. One of the reasons I'll be replacing this board. I can't watch Youtube and play those particular games at the same time which is super annoying. Buyer beware.

Pros: Lots of connectivity Fast board and a enthusiast board that allows for CPU tuning Fast WIFI 6E card Feature packed Great aesthetics Cons: Loud Chipset fan Very slow initial bootup, with a black screen Expensive, I got this as open box which shaved some costs. Doesn't come with onboard sound, but a USB-C external DAC Overall positive, the HIVE breakout box I actually didn't use as I already had an external USB sound adapter that I use instead on my old system set up. There's also a FPS-II card that goes into the motherboard that has old SATA connectors and internal USB headers. I didn't need to use that card at all, and it's optional as the power button along with CMOS clear is available on the motherboard. The downfall is the chipset fan is really loud, and the chipset cooling which is lacking. I have to use additional fans inside my ITX case to quiet down the entire system.

a few things: * only 2 sata ports * the sata port are badly located for an itx board * the bottow nvme ssd gets really hot * very pricey for what you get the positive: * it is reliable * it is highly configurable
