I am a dog groomer with tendon pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. I need support, maneuverability, comfort, and water & hair resistance. I need something that I can keep clean and reuse.Thank goodness I found these gel braces! I am able to avoid pain while working and in my field, your hands and run through the ringer so that is more than I hoped.They start off with a powder, talc probably, fresh from the package. This allows the gel to slip over your skin easily. You can easily wash this off with water if you prefer I recommend leaving it on because learning how the brace fits on your hand is easier when it slides over your skin. Because I use it throughout the day and I am bathing dogs I have grown accustomed to putting the brace on without the powder because dry it off completely would be too much of a hassle. It is very stretchy but snaps back into place stubbornly which allows you to experience support while it hugs your skin when you move. The material is a little vulnerable to puncture, so if I have a dog with sharp toenails I have to be careful where those nails go if I don’t want a hole in my gel but is generally very strong as long as there is not a sharp edge.Highly recommend!

I have super painful tendonitis in my thumb and I've tried several different kinds of braces and splints. Most are way too bulky, awkward, or more painful to wear than not. I gave these a try and they have a very weird feeling but they seemed to help a lot, were comfortable, and discreet. They felt like squishy gel. They are washable, but you'll want to powder them or your hand before putting on. The powder helps it glide onto your hand and not pull at your skin. Pretty impressed with these!

I have thumb arthritis and have tried several gel/waterproof style braces for specific tasks like cooking, exercise, video games. Of the ones I have tried, these are the most comfortable and provide the most support. I really appreciate that they come in sizes. I have very small hands (buying gloves is challenging), and I usually have to look for things that people are complaining are too small. With these, I can just order a size small and have them fit correctly!While I have worn these for hours at a time, I have not worn them all day - I think that would probably cause irritation, especially if they got wet repeatedly. In general, this type of brace needs to be powdered regularly to keep from becoming very sticky, and they are a bit of a pain to get on and off, so I still use a Futuro velcro thumb stabilizer when I need something for longer wear or something I can take on and off handily.I do wish these came in some other colors. I am a light skinned person, but these don't blend particularly gracefully with my skin, and I imagine it is worse for people with other skin tones. I would really appreciate them in black. Everybody can tell you are wearing a brace no matter what color it is, and black would be less likely stain.

I'm a hairdresser and I need to wear a brace every day because of my carpal tunnel until I get surgery. But I had to constantly take it off because of all the water I'm in and my hand was killing me. This product helped so much!! I can leave it on all day. It isn't the easiest thing to put on, but it offers a lot of support. I do have to take it off occasionally when I'm styling hair because it gets sticky. But overall I'm super pleased.

This product is amazing! Using these braces quickly brings me some wrist, thumb, and hand pain relief. However, I used them for support while painting with oil based paint and tried to remove the paint with acetone and the braces disintegrated. Totally my error! Just a heads up — don’t do that. Haha! I’ve been using them with a bunch of yard work and they easily clean up with soap and water.

Comfortable & supportive. I've been looking for a thumb brace/glove that provides the necessary compression. These are the 4th one I've tried and finally found what I've been searching for.But, my fears of a pale, flesh-toned support have been realized. I prefer dark supports, black or gray. 3 days of use and this one is stained by the shirt I wore today. Hand soap, Dawn® detergent, alcohol, vinegar, nothing will clean it.I'll still wear it but I'm disappointed I can't clean it.UPDATE: disappointed with durability. Wearing for several hours at a time, 3 or 4 days a week. After about 4 weeks the material has torn on the 2 I've worn.

So, these all tore at the same spot. Customer support was great though!! I emailed & they asked for pictures. They responded asking me to let them know what I'd like to replace them with. I went with the grippy gloves & it was a great choice! I've been "living" in the new gloves due to carpal tunnel & de Quervain's flares. They are well made! Like anything you want to last,, you don't treat them like a dog chew toy, lol! I take them off by lossening each finger up, then gripping each & removing my fingers 1 x 1. I have had zero issues with poor stitching, unraveling, tearing etc. They are comfortable & off support alone & protection when worn under braces. I complimented the service & was told customer's happiness is their business ethic.

If there is a better or more honorable company than Dr. Fredericks Original (DFO) products, I would like to be introduced to them immediately. The thumb & wrist brace I purchased did not give me the kind of support I needed (due to arthritis in my hand). After a brief message to DFO Customer Support, I received a prompt and courteous reply from a "Customer Happiness Specialist." The DFO responder could not have been more accommodating. Within less than a week, a rigid thumb splint was sent to me without fuss or fanfare. Far too many companies become unresponsive to customer needs the moment payment for their product arrives. Not so with Dr. Frederick's. They merit 10 starts for custom service and support. And the rigid thumb splint does a splendid job of providing me the kind of support I need. Thank you to Dr. Frederick's Original. I will look to FDO whenever I need orthopedic support products.

I have fairly bad arthritis in both wrists and thumbs. This give the support I need to help complete all my household work. I would always take my other wrist splits off because they aren't waterproof. This are and they are easy to clean and dry quickly
