Actually bought this as a "Mothers day" present for te wife from the children. She always wants to feel the weight of the duvet on her so normally draped her towelling dressing gown on the bed for added weight. I thought I would be uncomfortable under this blanket as I quite often have a leg out of the duvet and certainly don't like weight/pressure on my toes! Oh how wrong I was! I thought this blanket would take some getting used to but I was wrong again! So first night of use it does feel a little strange when you first get into a bed with this blanket on top as it is very heavy! However I can safely say I had one of my best night's sleeps on the first night! I felt as if I hardly moved in the night and didn't wake up as much. I can't really pinpoint the exact reason for my restful night but the blanket certainly did what it was suppose to do. We have used the blanket for around 3 weeks until it got too hot and every night was the same very pleasant experience.So in summary - worth every penny! Time will tell if it washes well etc. but for now I just can't wait until it starts getting cooler and the blanket can once again comfort me to a long and refreshing sleep.

This weighted blanket from brand Highams is made of 100% cotton with polyester filling. It comes in a nice see-through keepsake bag and is very heavy, despite being only 4kg. This is supposed to be the weight for a child but in all honesty this would suit an adult too IMO.The manufacturers claim this blanket helps Anxiety Autism, Insomnia and Stress and there are lots of positive reviews to this effect. Personally I bought the blanket because I suffer from eczema and I wanted a 100% cotton skin friendly blanket. It's well made and good value for money at under sixteen pounds.The issue I have with it is, it's hand wash only, this means it's very heavy to wash and dry on a line, or anywhere. VERY difficult to get washed and dried in winter. I don't think I can use it for this reason and so it's going to charity.

I usually don't leave reviews, but as I was hesitating to buy this product for a long time myself, I thought to leave my opinion to maybe help someone decide as I am mad at myself that didn't order this earlier.As I said , I was taking my time till I actually made an order as I am insomniac for years now who struggles to fall asleep and to stay asleep, whatever I would try , wouldn't help unless it's sleeping pills. So I ordered this blanket 8kg, (my weight is approximately 68kg) for myself and my best friend who was recently starting to complain about bad nights too. I don't know what kind of magic it is, but we both actually have started to sleep well, I sleep through the night without waking up not even once!! And I fall asleep in minutes too. I don't feel that it is warm enough, I use another blanket on top as I love to be warm , but overall I am very happy with this product. No issues in quality either, I've put the blanket in a cover and use it as a normal blanket to sleep. Can't be happier with it although I've been sleeping with it approximately 3 weeks now, I think I would want eventually go for even heavier one but it is doing the job perfectly. Hope this helps someone as I can't imagine my nights without it now.
