Q: Is this unit for incoming cold water to the hot water tank?

This unit is designed for out going hot water, but I installed it on the in bound cold water line. My plumber and I agreed it's better to filter the water going in, to preserve the heater tank. My appliances agree as well, no more staining!!!

Q: Is this housing suitable for sun exposed areas

Should be OK. It's a very thick plastic, so the UV should not penetrate deep enough to cause structural damage. The color might fade. of course.

Q: Will 2.5 x 9.75 cartridges work? Specifically the high temp filters by KleenWater.

It uses the standard sediment or taste&oder filters sold at any home center or hardware store. If you are using super hot water then use the high temp filters.

Q: Here can I get a wrench for the Kemflo 10" hot water filter housing?

When I bought mine it came with a wrench. Which I didnt use. I just turned it with my hand. Hasn't leaked yet.
