Harken Hoister 7806B.12 4 Point Hoister System (for 12ft Ceiling)

This system was not difficult to install, but you do need to put some thought into it. It works just as advertised. I'm a woman with average upper body strength and it is a breeze for me to lift my Jeep top off and lower it back in place. Alone! I was worried that lifting it would be heavy and that it would tend to fall too fast if I wasn't careful. Not true in the least. I don't think I could make it lower fast if I tried. It doesn't go down too slowly either. I like this hoist better than some of the other hoists because the top doesn't twist when hanging in the air. Just read the instructions carefully and all will be well. My husband and I installed this ourselves. We have a garage ceiling that is 11' 6" and this size was perfect.

using hoist in my garage to easily take a camper top off and on of my pickup truck. works like a charm. Easy to install, directions were very helpful and complete. In my case since I'm at the upper limit of the hoist's weight capacity, I used longer boards to attach to the roof trusses to help distribute the weight across more trusses, but other than that, I just followed the directions. can easily raise or lower the top.

Works great for my F150 truck cap from ARE. Hoist to a 13 foot ceiling without issue. The only difficulty I have is that you cannot get the rig to come down without significant weight on it so once the Is placed on my truck I have to hang the straps to the side because I cannot hoist them back to the ceiling or I will never get them back down.

It took me about 1.5 hours to install and after doing so I realize I could have cut that time in half if I had not been unnecessarily detailed. Instructions are easy enough.Taking off my truck shell is easy. Not counting unscrewing the shell from the truck it takes less than two minutes to take it off and lift it to where it is stored.The weight of my 8' long shell doesn't come close to straining the system. I am pretty sure the Harken published weight limits are conservative, perhaps ridiculously so.Realized I did not have a 12' ceiling after buying it. Mine is a little less than 10'. Did not matter.
