Flood Style Light that is Bright but Gets HOT!!!
Pros-This is an awesome flood style light. No bright focus spot like other flashlights. So if you need more light to cover more area, this is it!The toggling between settings and quick access to low low light and turbo mode is amazing! You can lock the buttons as well so there isn't any accident of turning it on.Good battery life(Using the Nitecore 3400 Mah battery)Like that it's a unibody flashlight and feels comfortable in the hand.Cons-It gets hot in high and turbo mode. Took a temperature reading when it was on for 10 minutes in high and turbo. My house stays at 71F and the flashlight Reached temperatures around 110-115F on the handle in high mode and in turbo mode got to 120F on the handle, which is hot when holding bare hands. You can imagine if you stick this light between your neck and shoulder how hot that would feel.Thoughts- Not sure if there is an issue with my light, but I still enjoy using this light. I work in a tire plant, so this thing comes in handy all the time. You're not going to get a focus bright spot. I think this was designed more to cover more area with light and not have a blinding white spot.

Don't leave the batteries in these or do swap them out very regularly
I own the EC4 as well and this is definitely way brighter than that one. The fact it uses the same batteries and is the same size and weight is super nice. Like many have said already it has a great mix of throw and spread and the buttons are at the right spot for your thumb so all this would definitely have given the flashlight 5 stars. I really like the two battery wider shape since it fits in my hands very well. However I needed to use this flashlight one day and the batteries were completely dead. I had batteries in there for 4 months and when I put the batteries in the charger they were almost completely drained. I checked my EC4 and those batteries were also completely drained. I couldn't say when that happened but it's kind of a shame. My Thrunite, Fenix, Maglite, Streamlight, Surefire, and Thorfire flashlights don't seem to have that slow drain so they sit in my home or backpack or car and I know they'll work. With these however I have resorted to keeping the batteries in their little case. Yes, with alkaline batteries you had to do the same but when you no longer have to do that with most newer flashlight models I don't expect to do the same with these. I love the flashlight but I find it a huge inconvenience to keep the batteries separately and still keep them together. My idea is to put a little plastic slip on a contact like some new products have but that seems unnecessary on a $100 flashlight.

Great compact 2000+ lumen floodlight
I am a self-described flashlight nerd - I love tac lights and when I see something like this come along I typically snatch it up to see how it performs. This light is excellent. The compact design, easy to maintain, great weight, low heat overall - it's a fantastic high power light and it's easy to operate.I have another 2000 lumen 2x18650 light from Streamlight that I like very much - however that one is far longer and has a larger headThis light easily fits in a jacket pocket or the included belt casethe light is super bright - of course - and I use high quality 3100 or 3400 MaH 18650s - the NiteCore 18650s work great in these lights and I recommend them highly.this light has plenty of 'throw' - well over 100 yards - and the light pattern is what I would call a floodlight pattern - wide beam, tons of light - no real spot to it. It easily illuminates 90+% of the local soccer field to the point where I can see everything there at night quite easily.I have not had it long enough to experience the parasitic drain - however using the higher capacity batteries and charging them every 2 weeks or so should, IMHO, alleviate any concerns. the instructions also state to keep the batteries out of the light if you are storing long term.

nice, solid design
powerful, nice, solid design; good feel, excellent fit & finish - hard to tell what lumens intensity is because it depends of the lens dispersion and all flashlights are different. what I can say is that this one produces a solid and somewhat well defined spot of light of about 24" dia. at 10 ft distance but it also has a significant secondary surround (glow), which makes for a smooth "transition" between the maximum center spot intensity and to the periphery. no need for a zooming feature, which simplifies the mechanics and minimizes leakage opportunities. I placed the spots of a 1,000 lms NITECORE MH-20 and a 900 lms EC-11 flashlights side by side next to this one (listed at over 2,100 lms) - the spot intensity between the three of them is insignificant, however, the "peripheral throw" of this flashlight is most robust, which makes all the difference. Keep one in your truck center console and you'll be able to turn a dark night on a deserted highway into a bright daylight - well,... or as close to it as you can imagine coming out of a pocket tool size feature.

Very bright but flimsy buttons and standby power consumption limit its usefulness
Very bright, no doubt about. Throw is very reasonable too - not spot, not too wide. But as another reviewer found when you try to use it just has dead batteries. I thought my cells could not hold charge anymore, but rather the light is poorly designed: it draws over 5mA when off. With generous 2000mAh batteries it takes only 2000/5/24 = 16 days to run out. So you get perhaps 3 or 4 days of standby (if you want it to be 3/4 charged) - a joke. Maybe the one I got is defective, do not know.Add the tiny easy-to-accidentally-push buttons - it is not a light you take into rough wilderness. Maybe to walk a dog in city. On the positive side it will light up the whole street. The lock out function (push both buttons for a while) helps a bit though it is not a replacement for a solid large tail-end switch that most lights use.Not recommended, there are better choices.
