Perfect for now
I bought this adapter to use with a sony a7s. There are many similar products (none sold by Amazon unfortunately) with poor reviews. I decided to give this one a try without expecting much. The item was sold by Hincore and it arrived within two days of ordering. There is no manual, just a printed a4 sheet with basic instructions. The build quality seems to be very good; the cable that comes out of the dummy battery seems a bit firm but fitted perfectly in the camera. Took a few pictures and recorded a video and everything seems perfect. I can confirm it fully works on the sony a7s. I hope it won't stop working like other adaptors but I will update the review accordingly.

Works perfectly! Extends the battery life on my A6300 brilliantly.
Just purchased this for my Sony A6300 for use connected to my Anker/Aukey powerbanks.Having done the continuous record limit removal on the A6300 I have been testing the camera recording 4k 25fps and it's been running solidly now for 45 minutes uninterrupted and still according to the camera has 85%. Previous tests with normal NP-FW50 Sony batteries have overheated the camera at around the 30 minute mark.Edit: Have reached the 47 minute mark and the overheating warning sign has appeared but is still filming.Edit 2: Has reached over an hour of filming without overheating - onscreen battery reading at 82%. Removed the dummy battery and put back in the same dummy battery and turned back on the camera - reading of 94% and no heat warning sign. Very impressed. My power bank still shows four full LEDs so I presume this could power for a lot longer time than the predicted on screen percentage on the camera. The product itself seems well constructed, has a solid cable and connector and the dummy battery you insert itself seems of good quality. Instructions are simple and printed on a sheet of A4 but pretty self explanatory.Note: You will need an external battery or power source that delivers over 2A of power. My Aukey 20,000mah deliver 2.4 and is working great.

Works Great ^.^
Just tested it out today, no long term news yet. I will update on that in a few month(s) if something happens and on how it's going. The adaptor is great. You can plug it in like any old EN-EL14(a) battery and it'll use a USB input. There are two USB connectors, each one can handle 2-4A, so you can stack them on two 2A inputs if necessary, though I find that one has worked fine. The cover for the battery slot goes over the actual adaptor and the rubber grommet on the slot can be removed to allow for the cable; seems like Nikon actually thought this kind of thing through, either that or something else. In any case, it works fine. It's been a long road, from larger EN-EL batteries to faulty battery grips, but now I can just use this and a huge as heck powerbank. Screw 1200 mAh batteries for £50 from Nikon, or cheap £10 ones from third parties; I'll just buy a £100 50,000 mAh battery pack and have infinite shots! INFINITE I TELL YOU! Maybe not infinite, but like, a lot more than the normal amount.

Glad I came across this
I contemplated buying extra batteries, then contemplated buying a grip for my camera. However, I wasn’t keen on trying to remove the battery door from my new camera. I stumbled upon this piece of kit quite by accident and have had great results. Plug in the fake battery, shut the door and connect the other end of the lead (USB) to a battery/charger pack. Now, instead of an hour or so on one fully charged Canon battery when filming, I get several hours from an external battery. What’s more, I’m not disturbing the camera when I changed power packs when doing a time lapse. Excellent buy.

See in review for a tip on plug type required.
After a few teething problems I worked out what to do and this product works wonderfully with my Sony A7. It is important to note that a normal usb plug will not provide the current required to enable the device. If you use this method then the camera will power on but the shutter takes an eternity to open and close. I tested it with various plugs and discovered that it would work perfectly with my power bank which has an sufficient current output and also with an i Pad ‘block’ charger ... i.e. the bigger Apple charger. This will provide the necessary voltage and current. Once I figured that out I was delighted with the product so thought I would share this for any prospective buyers as a tip.

Good alternative power for Panasonic GH5 camera
Works perfectly when coupled with a high capacity power bank to power my Panasonic GH5 as an alternative to using batteries. Obviously you do have leads hanging from the camera but this is not too inconvenient especially when tripod shooting.

Saved me so much battery hassle. Gave me so much shooting freedom.
I've spent literally hundreds of hours taking product photographs with my Sony a6000. I have this dummy Sony battery plugged into a USB travel power adapter (B077Z7J5V8 with 3 USB ports, but anything with decent USB power output should suffice). Not ever having to care about battery life is wonderful! And because my camera thinks it has somewhere between 80-100% battery left (I don't know why it varies), it happily stays awake for hours - not going to sleep and losing my zoom setting, etc. I'm lucky to be using this indoors where there's always AC power to supply the USB, but for my purposes this has been one of my best accessory purchases.

Flash unusable
I have had this for about 1 year now and have found it somewhat useful. However, when I try to use the built in flash on both my D3200 & D5600 the shutter will not fire the shot. Only when the flash is closed will it work. disappointed that this happens every time. :(
