EltaMD UV shield SPF 45, 3 Ounce Cream

Lightweight and effective

I have used "Shield" for several years. It is the lightest chemical based sunscreen I could find for my sensitive, dry skin. I use it after applying my moisturizer. It is non-irritating and absorbs quickly. It does not leave a white cast. Often I will use a "tinted" sunscreen over it in place of makeup (EltaMD Physical tinted, or EltaMD Clear tinted). The 2 together, give me great sun protection without being too heavy. Shield does have Octinoxate, but it is not irritating nor does it smell. The product is fragrance free which is very hard to find in a sunscreen. It can be used on either face or body. I have found that 100% mineral based sunscreens are too heavy, greasy and leave a white film on my face. "Shield" is a good compromise.

Muy buen producto, es un filtro solar muy adecuado y amigable con pieles sensibles, mi piel tiene etapas que se irrita por todo y este bloqueador solar es muy gentil, no arde, prácticamente no tiene aroma, es ligero, claro teniendo en cuenta que es filtro físico y siempre dejan un aspecto blanquecino aunque se adapta pasando unos 20 minutos, no deja el rostro con brillo, por el contrario a lo largo del día se matifica, por lo que considero es bueno para pieles con tendencia a grasa. El precio es un poco más elevado que el común de los bloqueadores de marcas dermatológicas pero viene más cantidad en el embase, por lo tanto, si hacemos cuentas la relación calidad-precio es excelente.

Este producto lo compre por recomendación de mi dermatóloga y me ha gustado bastante. La consistencia es media, no la siento pesada en la cara. Al inicio deja una capa blanca en toda la cara pero en segundos desaparece. Deja mucho brillo pero de igual manera va disminuyendo. Yo TENGO PIEL SECA y al paso de las horas siento que me reseca un poco, pero es tolerable. Es olor es muy ligero y nada molesto.

I really like this. For comparison, I had been using the EltaMD Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 40 for the last year and I actually like this one better. I had originally chose the "moisturizing sunscreen" because of the hyaluronic acid content (I have dry skin from tretinoin use), but I really didn't find it hydrating enough - my skin would be dry and flaky by lunch and makeup didn't look great over it because it would settle in the dry spots. This one is way better. It isn't marketed for dry skin, in fact, it says "normal to oily" but I find it wears much better on my dry skin. It's not greasy at all, and it's not exactly hydrating (I do think oilier skinned folks would be happy with this), yet somehow I don't feel like my my skin is completely dehydrated at the end of the day anymore. I'm not sure if this is related but I've also found that my skin is clearer when using this? I never noticed until I switched to this that the other sunscreen was making me break out. +10 points for the higher SPF (45 vs 40 in the moisturizing sunscreen), and the larger bottle. Far more economical per ounce for a better product.

He probado muchos bloqueadores y este es mi favorito. Es mineral, super importante porque es malo usar químicos, no te queda blanco y no es pesado, es como si te pusieras una crema para hidratar nada más. El unico punto negativo es que conforme pasan las horas tu piel se ve más brillosa. Pero es perfectamente manejable porque en realidad es poco brillo comparado con cualquier otro bloqueador y no te deja la cara blanca ni un poco. Me encanta.
