VHS Collector's Edition
Great selections here, featuring a pre-star Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, and Elizabeth Montgomery."Two," which stars the latter two actors mentioned, was one of the less than a handful episodes that were both written and directed by Montgomery Pittman before his untimely death in 1962.That leads us to "Hitch-Hiker," which was adapted by Serling from a radio play by Lucille Fletcher (later Mrs. Bernard Hermann), staring the beautiful and ill-fated Inger Stevens. The tremendous irony here is that Miss Stevens would die a little over ten years after the episode's airing, by her own hand.Watch closerly, though, because "Hitch-Hiker" was a basis for another famous TZ episdoes which I will lead you to guess, as well as Herk Harvey's "Carnival of Souls."
