Q: Can i put it on a mask?

If you mean some sort of plastic mask you might wear... You could put it on there, but I'm not sure how well it will stay on. It's a very fine powder, and it sticks well to human skin because it gets into all the creases and crevices of your skin and mixes with the oil in your skin.

Q: Is it just black powder,that can give you the look of coming out of a burning building?

Yes, it could give the look of soot all over someone's face very easily. This is a very fine powder that easily sticks to your skin. A little goes a LONG way. A tad on your finger tips or on a cotton pad will be able to do quite a bit of dirtying. A bit more and you'll have a very sooty face. It's good for general grime as well, on the hands and otherwise. I recommend that after your initial application, you use oil or water to blend out the powder and make it look more realistic.

Q: Could it be used in your hair, without any negative effects? And would I need to wash it out every day?

Hi, this is recommended for face makeup, we have Graftobian Color Hair Spray for hair.

Q: Can i use this to distress fabric for a childs costume?

this is very fine black powder... I've use it on skin & hair never on fabric. Also a little goes a long way.
