My Third one! Great item for a quick and easy clean shave!
The Braun Electric Razor has served me extremely well! This lightweight mobile razer uses 2 double A batteries, but those batteries last a LONG time. Additionally, it comes with a hidden brush for easy cleaning and folds up to be put away easily. After 3 of these razers, I've finally left a review, but I am extremely happy with the quality and usage for price. Keep in mind, this being my third, doesn't mean it didn't last. My previous two were lost while moving, so I had to replace it, and no other mobile razer works quiet like these. But I would say, each one lasted about 5-6 years before being lost. The Braun mobile electric razer is definitely a perfect product for the price and I would highly recommend anyone who needs clean shaves and shaves frequently.

Remarkable bargain.
I was very surprised at how well this thing works given its very low price. Instead of using the provided alkaline batteries, I installed a pair of recently charged 2300mAh NiMh rechargeable batteries. Using it every day, those batteries lasted for well over a month without requiring a recharge - and these were not quicky shaves. It can shave very close, and it glides easily over my skin. For more detailed evaluation, let me compare to a Panasonic 3 head rechargeable shaver I have. Actually, its the 3rd such I have had over many years. The failure mode has always been in battery performance. Servicing the built in batteries is not economically feasible, since replacing the whole unit also buys you new heads. Even my most recent is down to 2 shaves per charge, so I was pondering a replacement when I ran across this extraordinarily inexpensive Braun. The very low price was surprising since Braun has a good reputation. The fact that the Braun's batteries were user-replaceable was a strong selling point for me. Nevertheless, at the low price I was not expecting much. The Braun shaves closer than my Panasonic, and it glides more smoothly over my skin. The Braun is not nearly as loud, which is relevant since I normally shave while watching TV. Battery life is very good and replacing them is easy. Because its head is smaller, it takes somewhat longer to shave with the Braun; but I really don't care about that, since I am watching TV at the same time anyway. There is one significant con: There are non-whisker hairs (softer, lying close to the skin) in a couple areas near my beard which I also wish to shave. Unfortunately, these hairs never seem to poke through the Braun's foil, no matter how I maneuver it. Every 4 or 5 days, I have to resort to another means (the Panasonic or a blade) to get those hairs. The Panasonic has no problem with the soft hairs, since one of its 3 heads is a slotted head. (Norelco heads are also slotted and will also get these hairs.) Although these devices claim to be washable, I would not recommend washing. It is nice to know that the works are well sealed, but wetting it still seem like asking for trouble. For decades, I have used talcum powder as a lubricant for shaving. The drier the skin and whiskers the better. (IMO, the idea of wet shaving with an electric shaver is very counterproductive, since, unlike the situation with a conventional blade, softening the beard does not make cutting it any easier for an electric shaver mechanism (which has more of a scissor like action). Indeed, softening the beard just decreases the probability that any given hair will get to where a blade can hit it.) Talcum powder that collects inside is easily knocked loose and/or blown from the internal blade parts and skin oils and bits go with it. Once a week or so, it is good to use the brush for any buildup that might occur (e.g., between the blades of the shaving block). This approach requires very minimal maintenance and does not lead to any problems that I have ever experienced. If I were still dating, I would keep one of these in my car for last minute touch-ups.

Get's job done for it's purpose
Background: I bought this along with Panasonic ES-LT41-K Men's 3-Blade (Arc 3) Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver with Nanotech Blades, Black/Silver so I don't have strong comparison. In the beginning I liked the BRAUN POCKET SHAVER,2xAA,CAP - WASHABLE, M60B little more because I felt it was cutting the hair much more closer. After 5 months of on and off use along with the Panasonic ES-LT41-K, I began to use lot less. Positive: + small & compact --> great for travel use + uses 2 AA battery, easy to replace. + gives very close shave + water proof Negative: - because it uses 2 AA, power isn't so great but it didn't bother me too much - perhaps shaves little too close Experience: In the beginning I liked the feeling of shaving very closely, but later I did not like so much because I have sensitive skin. Even after decent use it appears that I am getting "burns" with this razor, or that I am cutting too short than I should. I've use it in dry and wet condition. It works just fine in dry shave, although takes little longer and not as neat & clean. I shaved in shower with it and had no problem with water proof. Wet shave (also used shaving gel) gave much more clean shave. Conclusion: Never the less it doesn't come close to the great feeling I got as using the Panasonic ES-LT41-K. However, this is unfair comparison because Braun M60B is intended as travel shaver. And as a travel shaver, it performs its function as intended and I have no complaints. Just don't expect shaving experience from more expensive and high performing shaver or razor.

Have the right expectations and this is a good deal
I have gone back and forth on electric razors for years between wanting one and backing off because of some review I saw. I like how close a regular razor works, and would even do a straight blade if I had the patience or the time, but when I saw this and how cheap it was, figured it was worth a try and I have been pleasantly surprised. A lot of the reviews out there are not setting the proper expectations for this product. It is a TRAVEL electric razor, not some high dollar 7 or 9 series Braun (at the time of writing this, they are pretty universally considered the industries best/standard). What can you expect when people compare a $17 razor to a $200+ razor? So with the right expectations, here are some things to note that I like and don't like (and a few comments): 1) It runs on AA batteries. Nothing worse than going on a trip and thinking "nah, I can avoid bringing the charging cable" only to have the built in battery die on you 3 days into the your 7 day trip. With this, pop into the hotel gift shop and grab a set of AA's and you're back in business. 2) This is an electric razor....DO NOT press it hard into your skin! Not only will you wear out the blades and guard, but you risk the razor cutting you. You glide it over your skin so the hairs can go in the guard and be cut by the blade. 3) The built in rotating cover and brush are handy so everything is in one unit while traveling. 4) For $17 (price when I bought it), while traveling if I need to cut weight for my bag or it breaks or it gets lost or forgotten, its not the end of the world. Yeah, it is annoying but I'm not going to let $17 affect my mood or ruin a trip. Taking my family to McDonald's for dinner costs more than that! Skip a meal or 2 like that and eat at your hotel/home and you can buy a replacement with the savings. 5) Don't expect this to be high dollar quality. It will last you awhile but if you use it daily for 6 months or more, you got your value out of it and go buy another one. The replacement blades and cleaning cartridges for the high end Brauns will cost you upwards of $60 a year or more on top of the $200 price tag of the unit...You could get 3 of these travel models for the cost of the maintenance of the 7 series in 12-18 months. And if one of these lasts you 6+ months...3 will last you 18+ months so you just saved yourself the $200 initiation fee to be in the 7 series club and still have an OK shave. 6) It does an OK job for a shave but you can't have a lot of growth so it is a daily use kind of a razor. If I miss a day, its easier to get back to the electric razor routine after using shaving cream and a manual razor for a day. My expectations were accurate for traveling and the convenience of being able to shave while I am going about my business with kids, work, etc which helps me get a few minutes more of sleep at night on those rough days. Not for a daily use product expecting an excellent smooth shave. If that's what you want, my bet is an electric razor is not for you. Remember to have the right expectations for the product and this turns out to be a good deal.

Good product but could be better
I mean it works but not as great as I would like it to. I have to go over the same area several times. I like it because it is small and easy to carry on trips. Plus it uses battery.

Works like a cheap electric razor
For the money it works nice enough. Does well on sideburns and chin but anywhere softer like the neck gets cut up one or twice everytime

Good for all usage!
As a buyer of several products ranging from US$10 - US$50 of different kind of shavers, i am quite skeptical of most shavers below US$50 as most of it either nicks or cause redness/irritation. After trying this out for the first time, i am honestly quite impressed! I used it for my chin, then i proceeded to try on my underarm, and also my private areas. Overall, it is fantastic! Although i must say, before you use this product, ensure your body hair are trimmed. This item dont work well with long hair.
