Smart and Classy
Someone is going to have to explain to me exactly how a Chemex can be worth twice the price. Admittedly, a tiny piece of me still wants a Chemex for reasons borne of pure vanity, but this carafe and it's filter cone are both of great quality. A lot of imitations on the market are downright ugly in my opinion, but this one has the sleek, sexy hourglass shape. To be completely honest, I probably would have spent the extra money for Chemex if it weren't for that. Afterall, what more is this than a glass jar, of not an aesthetic table piece? It sets the mood. The filter cone has a very fine mesh screen on the inside. I've been known to grind a little too fine, and no grit comes through whatsoever. Also, coffee granules never get stuck in the filter. Not a single one. I simply dump and rinse when I'm done with it. I was concerned about the squared pour spout, but my fears were unfounded. It actually makes for a nice-and-easy pour, not too fast so you don't accidentally blast your wife's favorite robe with piping hot liquid in a morning stupor. I do have one small critique; the wooden collar feels... dry, if that makes sense. I think they just splashed it with such a thick heavy coat of polyurethane, that it makes it feel almost brittle like it's going to chip possibly. I'm afraid to wash it. Maybe it's just cheap wood or something, I dunno I can't really put my finger on it, but if it does fall apart, I'll just get like a nice looking piece of leather or something to wrap around it. I think customizing it that way could actually be a cool personal touch. Come to think of it, I might actually do that!

Absolutely LOVE THIS
Was going back and fourth between this one and the chemex, ended up going with this one since we are a bigger family, I went ahead and got the 10 cup and was worried about it being big enough since the cups capacity says it goes by 5oz cups, but when it got here, it was bigger then I thought and perfect size for just a cup or 2 or for us all to have a cup! The screen strainer works perfect by itself, I've had no grounds go into the coffee at all and it is made very well! I was worried about the glass because some reviews were saying they broke theirs but actually The glass is thicker than most other brands. This thing is well made. Now one thing I do think is, finer grounds of coffee would probably make a stronger coffee as well as hotter water then what i used my girst try which is a given so this isnt a issue with this coffee maker it was me rushing because i wanted to use it and i just warmed water in the microwave for a minute and used a coarser ground coffee (my first time making coffee in it was right out of the box because I was excited lol) but even doing this the first time, the coffee was still excellent! And with fine ground coffee or medium ground, it still will not leak grounds into the coffee. With hotter water, it will brew even smoother, stronger, and better. I'm so glad I went with this brand instead of the more expensive one! It is literally the exact same thing and very well made I love it

Good One
Nice quality. We have been using it for a while now to facilitate filtering out cholesterol raising diterpenes from our coffee. First, we French press then use this. A paper filter fits perfectly into our stainless strainer which fits perfectly into this coffee maker. A better way of attaching the wood "handle" is expected. We replaced the cord and wooden ball with a zip-tie.

Love it, butโฆ.
I love the small size. Perfect for me. Makes great coffee. But! The second time I washed it the filter lining started coming apart. Can anyone help me find a replacement for the reusable filter? It came apart even more today and may no longer be usable.

Try this - you wonโt be disappointed
Easy to hold. Thick glass. Easy to clean. Pours precisely and cleanly. Filters quickly but holds flavor. Holds enough to fill two 16-oz travel mugs. I have had several different pour-over coffee makers. This one is by far my favorite. I will never go back to an electric drip coffee maker. Price is right too!!

Design is somewhat flawed, good value otherwise
I like to make pourover coffee with a paper filter. If you want to use the included metal filter, all is well; enjoy yourself. The missing stars are due to a design difference between this carafe and a typical brand name. This does not have a spout that starts below the bottleneck. What that means is that paper filters form a seal against the side and coffee will travel up with the escaping bubbles and splatter and spill over the side. This also leads to inconsistent steeping times. I solved by shoving in a chopstick to create a vent next to the filter. Also, the angle of the top is too low, so you have to fold your paper filters an extra time.

Beautiful Tool for Making Bougie Coffee
The Agogo pour-through coffee maker is a beautiful kitchen tool. Borosilicate glass means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. The wooden grip ring keeps your fingers away from the hot glass when pouring. The model I got came with 50 sheets of pre-folded filter paper. The instructions on how to use it are not clear. The first time I put the filter's open seam over the pour channel. Messy mistake. Make sure that solid paper is over the pour channel, so that the tallest ears are on either side of the pour channel. The coffee was great. Filtering is better than a French press, which may not be desirable if you want some of the coffee "dust" to make your cup more interesting. ... The narrow neck makes it hard to wash. As soon as I use mine, I rinse it several times with the hottest water my system supplies to flush out oils and other residues from brewing.
