Smaller than you might like, but very solid and high quality build.
The stainless steel is very nice. The one I had that came with the ice maker was make of aluminum. Cleaning it in the dishwasher complete ruined it as it turned black and everything it touched, including our hands and fingers turned dark gray/black. It had to be thrown away. The SSteel ice scoop will not do that.My only disappointment and the reason for only **** is that it’s somewhat slightly smaller than it appears to be or is described by the seller. So, if you want one that takes less dips into the ice to fill a glass of ice, get one a little larger, hopefully by the maker, because these are very, very well made — solid stainless steel.

Rusted after 4 months in my freezer ice bin
Perfect size to leave in the ice bin in my freezer to scoop up a half a glass of ice cubes at a time. This eliminates 2 risks: First, if you use your drinking glass to scoop ice out of the ice bin, you risk chipping the glass and leaving glass fragments in the ice bin or inside your cup that could be consumed, and Second, using the scoop eliminates people using their unwashed hands and touching all of the ice since it is very difficult to pick out one ice cube at a time with your hand, so people usually do a hand scoop touching lots of ice with potential contaminates.Update: I dropped the rating to 2 stars since after 4 months of use, it began to rust. I'm doubtful that it's 18/8 stainless steel. I left this scoop in my ice bin constantly, so it is always frozen and not wet. The rust on the scoop is leaving rust stains on the sides of my plastic ice bin in my freezer and also getting into my ice, so it's time to throw this out after only 4 months. I'll go with a plastic ice scoop as a replacement.

Attractive, sturdy, stays shiny, single scoop ice scoop
I was concerned in general on which scoop to buy after doing my due-diligence (way to small, breaks, tarnishes in freezer or after washing, hard to manage, etc.) but this "stainless steel" scoop was/is just what I needed/wanted for my new refrigerator's ice maker. It's been a week now. Washed my new scoop in the dishwasher upon receipt and it came out as shiny as it went in and has not tarnished in the freezer. I use it 4 or 5 times a day. It is easy to use and holds just enough ice in one scoop for a 16-20 oz glass. This was a great buy and the price was very reasonable.

Here's the scooop!
I've been using this scoop for several months now and it is perfect for scooping ice out of my ice bin. It is very comfortable in the hand and breaks through ice that is stuck together very easily. (No ice picks needed!) It holds plenty of ice for a glass or bottle, but it is more difficult to get all the ice into a narrow necked water bottle, so I only fill it half way when filling water bottles and put 3 partial scoops in, instead of one large scoop. I would highly recommend this scoop for any situation where you only want to scoop ice into a glass or water bottle.

Love this Scoop!
Yes, this scoop was a little pricier than the other scoops that were availble, but it will not look dirty like many of the aluminum ones and the handle is integrated int the scoop, like it was made together, rather than added on afterwards, so it is even sturdier than some of the other ones that are less expensive. I love the size, it is perfect to scoop ice out of my freezer and into my regular sized glasses. I can even break ice up with it, without using an ice pick.

small scoop, high quality materials
Did a lot of research to find one of these that is actually stainless steel. This one is small but seems strong-- it scoops about 4-5 pieces of ice when it's totally full. Perfect for serving single glass of ice, whether 2-5 pieces. We leave ours in the freezer right next to the ice bin so that it's always read (yes, the handle is cold, but so be it).

Fteezer ice scoop
We bought this to use in our freezer ice maker and it is perfect. No more broken glasses and having to empty the entire ice bin! This offers the right amount per glass (one or two scoops per preference) and on top of all that it just looks cool!

Very nice scooper.
Very nice scooper. I bought both sizes. I use the 9.5 " for the ice and I use the 8" to put in containers such as sugar, floor, rice, cornmeal floor and treats. So far they are working well.
