Safety Warning What to do if the dog wriggles out of the harnessThe JULIUS-K9 chest harnesses have been designed for ease of use and for simple application. These types of harnesses are therefore most commonly used during city walks or when working with service dogs. As a result of improper leash use, sizing, or harness adjustment, some dogs can still wriggle out of the harness. If the leash is inadvertently pulled in the opposite direction to how the harness was put on, the harness might be pulled off the dog. This can happen if the harness is adjusted too loosely, the dog starts moving backwards trying to run away. the dog lags behind and is being pulled by the leashATTENTION:Dog harnesses are designed to guide the dog in a gentle, neck-sparing way on the leash, to hold the dog, and to make it possible for the owner to hold it back in case of an emergency. A dog harness is not a coercive tool! When facing the dog, do not pull the leash towards you and never pull the dog after you on a leash because it will hurt them. Improper leash treatment can cause the dog to try to escape. The owner would be responsible for the dog pulling loose from the harness should this happen. How to safely walk your dog in a harnessIf the dog is prone to panic or feels insecure near traffic, it is recommended to use the handle on the top of the harness to help the dog.It is also a good idea to use the collar and dog harness together with a double carabiner leash while walking. In this way, the dog can be led safely with one hand and the collar does not overload the dog’s neck if it needs to be held back suddenly. The Y-belt or pressure distribution pad, hich can be retrofitted to the harness, also allows the harness to rest securely and comfortably. How to adjust the dog harnessProper sizing and adjustment is essential for any type of harness. Before using the harness for the first time, it is very important to read the instructions carefully and to follow them. In the case of chest harnesses, adjust the girth strap of the harness so that only your palms can be slid between the inner lining of the harness and the back of the dog. The chest strap should allow four fingers to fit in between the dog’s front leg and the girth strap. Harnesses that are set too loose can be dangerous because the dog can get out of them, but overly tightening harnesses should also be avoided. How to correctly walk your dog on a leashWhen walking, the leash should always be loose, and only held tightly when there is a good reason, for example if you are forced to stop the dog suddenly due to a traffic situation. If the dog is scared, panics, or is just unwilling to move on, under no circumstances should you try to go any further and pull. If possible, keep the leash loose, but keep it short and try to get hold of the harness handle by getting behind the dog.Getting certain dogs used to a harness can be difficult in some rare cases. In cases like these we recommend seeking help from a professional dog handler who works with positive reinforcement. Wrong item supplied
Sent the first one back as was too big, going by the K 9 website sizing, then ordered a new one a size down and got a tool belt, this doesn’t fit the dog either

Another great option from Julius-K9
Top product as always from Julius. This is our 3rd harness from them. We had a smaller one when he was a small puppy and he outgrew that and we also have a power harness. It’s the best harness out there and being only 10 months and 35kgs we needed something strong and reliable. This delivered so much so that we have got him the belt harness to use in addition to the other one. The belt harness provides great control without making Dozer feel restricted. The power harness is also fantastic and has attachments so he can carry his own bowl and poo bags and even a space for a flashlight so my wife loves it as she feels safer at night and it’s also great for when we go longer walks or out for the day. The belt harness gives us a lighter option for him for when going his regular walks and is also great when we have him on his training line as he feels like he is off the lead as the belt harness is so Lightweight.

Measurements are incorrect!
Despite measuring my dog before ordering this just fits him on the tightest setting around his tummy and it’s massive on his chest!Luckily I foster dogs so will come in handy at some point. It’s nice just comes up too big!

Super strong quick drying lightweight harness
Dries quickly if your dog likes a dipMore lightweight than the standard Julius K9 harness, so great for the warmer weather, and it picks up less dog odourStrong harness designOnly downside is that there is no where to clip a light to, unlike the larger harness versions.Still a. Great harnesses!

Love it!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Love! Was concerned this wouldn’t be as sturdy as her original IDC harness as she is very strong, however if anything it seems stronger. Less coverage on the back is much better for warmer climates and dries much quicker after swimming.

Good quality product
Strong and sturdy on my growing puppy. Plenty of space to grow and the size overlaps with the size 1 adult harness. A good bit of kit and very comfortable.

Julius K9 idc new Belt Harness
I have one of these for my male Collie and it is great for attaching hands free lead as the harness stays in place. It doesn't fit quite so well on my female collies at the front. There is strap left over. Still love it.
