Cool and Functional
Loved: this phone is iconic and really ups the cool retro feel to any decor. When people figure out it actually works it’s so fun watching my grandkids use this phone! It’s also wonderful that it’s brightly colored, I tell my kids and anyone who enters my home “if you ever need to call 9-1-1, THIS is the phone you call on” it even has the same ring as an old school phone.. love love love!!

Old technology we lost the need of. Beautiful look, soft color.
Love it! As soon as it arrived I took down the cordless phone in the family room. One less EMF radiation emitting device in my home. Other two phones we have are slim line corded. We are willing to deal with the inconvenience of not being able to walk around and talk on the home landline but benefit from the EMF radiation reduction. The ring is a tad too loud so I placed a felted sticky pad over the the area at the bottom of the phone where all the grooves are and the sound is now softer. Left a couple open. Works for us.

It is exactly what an analog phone is supposed to be
I just received this phone after months debating on whether or not we needed to reintroduce a traditional landline phone back into the home. After several power outages with recent thunderstorms I decided we did need it. Once we finally had the new lines hooked up and ready to go, I ordered this phone to use (as well as the French Blue) in both my living room and bedroom. For the most part, this phone is exactly what an analog phone is supposed to be and is exactly how I remember it being as a child, and up until 10 years ago when we moved and I decided no more home phone for us. It isn't the clarity and preciseness we hear now on our mobile phones, and most of us have gotten quite accustomed to that clarity so much so, that we forget that traditional phones used more or less the same technology since inception. While digital phone lines have progressed in that respect, corded phones on analog lines really haven't. So if you're looking to pick this phone up and have the clarity you get when you're connected to a call on your cell phone, or internet based lines, you're going to be sorely disappointed. I happen to like the old-fashioned sound and feel of the phone, so I'm pretty happy with it. The phone, again, rings the way phones rang back then. And the Normal and High settings were the options back then too; there really wasn't an "off" or "Low" or even a "medium" setting for the ringer, and sometimes not even for the receiver volume either. In essence, it rings loud. To some, it seems louder than to others. To me, it's a normal, regular ring that doesn't bother me. It might scare the socks off of me if I'm not expecting a call, but hey - it happened back then to me, too. There is no caller ID, unless you hook up a caller ID unit to it, so just like the old days, you take your chances with whomever is ringing you up, and deciding whether to answer or not. Luckily for me, my phone company provides voicemail, so after 5 rings, it goes to vm, and I then have the option of checking and/or calling back. The one thing that is chancey for sure, is that circular round Redial/Emergency button in the center of the dial pad. One wrong toggle and you're either redialing or calling 911, so you have to be super mindful when dialing otherwise one wrong move and who knows who you'll be reaching out to. All in all, I like this phone as it brings back memories of my childhood, of my teen years yakking it up on the phone, and of having my first house phone. It isn't particularly heavy like the original phones, but it's functional, and has its own ideal weight which makes it a great piece to have and even use as part of your decor, if that's what you're into. Either way, it's a nice addition and reminder of days of old for me and my family.

Beautiful phone — however NO ringer on/off as stated
Phone is literally the exact color in the images provided. If you have funky color settings on your monitor, I could see how you’d expect something else. Color is exact and the phone is super nice, HOWEVER there is NO ringer on/off capability as stated in the description. The only switch on the phone controls ONLY the volume of the speaker on the handset (ie how loud you hear the person you’re talking to). This inaccuracy is why I’ve taken off a star. Please fix your description! The phone does right quite loudly — just FYI. So do not buy thinking it’ll be non-disruptive or jarring

Great quality, great looks!
I was scared initially when I purchase this product because everything made today is so horribly cheap and made without any love whatsoever but to my surprise this phone isn't. I purchased this phone along with one made in Germany at 2X the cost because I didn't know what to expect from this phone. To my surprise I was more Happy with the overall quality of this phone over the more expensive phone made in Germany. Excellent quality and works great even over VoIP. Compliments to the makers. Thanks

love-hate with this one
Ok. So after a few years using just cell phones, we thought it would be fun to get a retro, pop-design phone when we got a landline again. I was psyched at the idea of this yellow phone -- I also like the company's other colorations, but this pop of yellow was supposed to be like a lemon in rooms with greys and teals -- it was going to be a nice punctuation point. AND it was an old-school phone that my kids/husband couldn't misplace all around the house like when we had wireless ones. Ugh. 1) It is not the yellow pictured. They describe it as mustard, fair play. It is a really bad mustard color, nowhere near anything lemony or sunny. Think mango crossed with Frenches' mustard, then make it ugly. In truth, if they'd pushed it further, it might have been a good organic color; as it is, it's just depressing and unattractive. 2) Then there are design issues. a)The handset is longer than handheld phones I grew up with, so is just the wrong size so that you cannot balance it on your shoulder with your chin. Worse: the mouthpiece has a raised round ridge, which makes it cut into your face if you try to do so. That's a really small complaint; it wouldn't bother me if not for the combination of complaints. ON A POSITIVE: the phone has good sound, both clarity in hearing and in the caller being able to hear you. b) See that circle in the center of the buttons? Rock it downward and it redials the last number you called. Rock it upward and it dials 911. As a rocker button, it's really easy to hit it wrong. Yes, we've had the police call us a couple times over misdials to the police. Yes, they actually came to the house one time to be sure we were ok. My kid is now terrified of that center button. c) A high-tech tool you may not realize you will miss: I thought I wouldn't care about not having caller ID, but it is a pain to not be able to see who is calling or to be able to display recent missed calls. That said, I did end up keeping the phone (although it doubled my expense, as I had to still ended up buying a full set of 3 remote handset, full tech phones by vtech for the same price as this phone), so SOME POSITIVES: 1) I **DO** really like that this company has made these vintage phones available. I think I would have preferred the grey or green, but even though I don't love the yellow, I still like the ability to have a retro phone. Each of their color options gives the ability to punctuate a room with an iconic phone shape, and that design aspect is important to have available. The black or red would be very classic, too. 2) With a family of busy boys and an absent minded partner, I *DO* like the ability to have one phone in the house hard-wired so no one can walk off and leave it under the couch or in the garage. Living in a hurricane zone, the idea was also to have one low-tech, hardwired phone that still works if the power is out. This phone would do that -- except our phone line is through our cable company so (heads up if that's true for you too) we had no line if the power OR cable went out. 3) The sound quality is very good. A simple need, but one you know to value if you've had wireless handsets or cell phones with occasional staticky connections -- this one has consistently good sound. 4) The ringer has a pleasant bell sound - not too loud or too quiet. For all that, I still would have ordered a phone from this company -- just likely in a different color. The phone is high quality. It is solid, hearty plastic, not some cheesy childish looking thing. The buttons have a solid feel.

High quality sound. Love the color.
Got this phone to have the look of the old phones, in the accent color of my house. Absolutely love it. Phone call sound quality is high compared to how our modern day cell phones. It’s refreshing to remember how crisp a phone conversation used to sound... The only thing I would change is the volume of the ringer. It is loud, which will be great for times when I am outside, but when we’re inside near it, it’s very loud, despite being set on the lowest setting. (Only two options, normal and high) Otherwise, happy with purchase.
