Hello, I was curious too so i was able to get 12-14 Xlarge using both or just the large one by itself. could fit a few more if your feeling lucky. :-P

Is the qt size a secret?

Well, you have two baskets. Baskets have about 1/2” feet (3 ea) and sizes are 2qt and 3 qt which the 2qt fits inside the 3qt. Both fit together inside the InstaPot

What's the remaining height of the food section in the bigger basket after the smaller basket has been placed inside through the top?.

With the small basket sitting on the item so that it will not be in the water, there will be about 2 1/2 inches from top of basket to top of the machine.
