Held in pocket point up, for smooth deployment.
Bought for Christmas present, found it to be as expected, the tip was tuff and the case held the blade snugly. Found it to be easy to open and close. Pocket clip held the blade in the correct position, to be drawn and opened in the correct configuration for defence.
