I have been using this water bowl for 2 years for outdoor cats and it is still working fine.

Got this to give my poor little Feral Cat(s) so they would have a water source this winter. I feel so badly for them. I have a Conex Container where i leave the door cracked open for them with several little beds I've made for them with food but I can't get an extension cord out that far so this bowl is just setting on my Concrete out in the open and w e've had a couple of snow storms here in Utah and FREEZING COLD Temps down to 12* and the water has never been frozen yet in the 1 month I've been using it. I hope this holds up with all the snow we get. I'm thinking I might rig something up, i.e. a large Container from Costco and drill a hole in the bottom and put it on it's side and anchor/hold it down with a large rock so the wind won't blow it away and then put this bowl inside with the cord coming out the back to the extension cord. I love animals and I take really good care of my inside and outside animals and since these little fella's/gals have adopted me I have to make sure they are fed, warm, watered.

I leave this plugged in all winter long on my porch in Northern Illinois for all the wild animals to have fresh water, it works like a dream. I just rinse it out every morning and refill it, cleaning it when necessary, it’s only frozen over the top once when it was about negative fifteen degrees. Totally reliable, all animals big n small use it, even birds and squirrels. The real surprise is that I only noticed my electric bills being about $2.00 more a month, at the most. I also used it for wet can food that would freeze right away. I placed a little water in the bottom of the bowl and then put a small bowl inside of the heated bowl sitting in the water. Put the can food into the small bowl and it kept the wet cat food the perfect temp for the hungry feral kitty that needed a good meal.😊 I definitely recommend this bowl.

No issues, plug and play. Kept water thawed in our cold and freezing PA winter. Make sure you clean it out every once in a while.

These work and they are sturdy and I’ve had temps down in the teens already and they do not freeze. However, the water seems to be a little warm for what the dogs want. The water is actually warm when I check it. The only way to fix that would be for it to be able to sense the temp of the water or the ambient temperature.Considering the cost that feature would probably add to the product, this is a good very reasonably priced option. The dogs will drink it but look for water everywhere else first. The bowls do get scale buildup pretty bad, even when new, and due to the warmness of the water, you must check it for the slime forming in the bowl and wash it when it starts to form. I’m a little OCD, so I wash them every couple days to keep from potential bacteria breeding in the warm water. They get water bubbles building up in them which to me is a sign of something breeding in the water since nothing has happened to create the bubbles any other way.The cord just has a thin wire wrapped around it for chew proofing - which is not good enough to give anyone with a dog that might chew any sense of security. Either hide the cord, completely or don’t buy this if you think your dog may chew the cord. I haven’t noticed any of my dogs even curious about the cord, which is good. I bought 3 of these bowls.Just stay on top of the cleaning and heed warning of the cord, and these bowls are great affordable option.

My cat is an outdoor lady, even in the winter with snow on the ground. We provided a heated house on the covered patio but the water would freeze every night. This bowl is perfect. Keeps the water drinkable and is not so large it gets messy from sitting too long. She appreciates it also. 😌

Not sure why we didn't get one sooner. It's quite simple and does the job. Sometimes the kitties would drink up all the water and then nest inside the bowl to keep warm haha. But it never seemed to get dangerously hot, and honestly the water was kept just enough above freezing but never more than what could be considered "warm".

Got it to water the stray cats through winter. With temps well below freezing, this bowl kept that water liquid. In fact on especially cold mornings I could see a littlw bit of steam rising off the bowl.

When we had a week long cold snap of -55 celcius and steam was coming off this water bowl so it will not freeze! Holds a large amount of water and easy to clean. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a good quality water bowl that will last and the price is very good compared to the plastic brands.

I just received these bowls 2 days ago.I bought 2 of these items to provide water to stray cats and wild birds in my neighbourhood, through the winter.The bowls are only 25 watts, which is less than I would like but works well enough and was much cheaper than the higher wattage bowls.The water stays mostly ice free above-25 C but is quite icy below that.At around -40 C the surface ices over.The weather here drops to about -45 for 3 months so I'll try these bowls out for the brrr season. I think I got my money's worth, but may ad a 50 watt bowl next winter for those really cold days.Edit: I've placed a thick piece of styrofoam under the bowl and it seems to have helped keep the ice from forming.

This dish did what it claimed to do. It kept the water from freezing even when it was -22 Celsius. I no longer need to dump the ice to add water to the animals water dish throughout the cold winter days! The dish is easy to clean and very sturdy. Well made for the outdoors. Now during the winter I will always have water available for the animals.
