A serendipitous mistake
Bought this by mistake (was looking for the CD version). Took it to a friend who had the hardware to convert it to digital. I have to say, it was an excellent mistake. It is a gorgeous album. We had a wonderful evening listening to this during the capture (said friend has much better audio equipment than I do, so I'll not be duplicating the experience in the foreseeable future). I'd listened to the expanded version on YouTube, but this one, while shorter, is much better curated, focusing on the best bits of the score (the expanded version is too 1980s synth heavy for my taste). Almost enough to make me go analog. Almost.

An excellent soundtrack I did not know existed and had been missing from my collection for the past two years. Once again, Randy Thornton does a great job of capturing the wonderful music of Elmer Bernstein and provides us with an original score to one of Disney's lost animated films. This is definitely a soundtrack for any fan of The Black Cauldron, fan of movie soundtracks in general, or fan of Elmer Bernstein!

Love the expanded soundtrack
Love the expanded soundtrack! The audio is crisp and clear and the cover art is tops too! My only gripe is the tracklisting. It's a little perplexing how some songs are titled. Like, "Xchange" and "bubble up"

Bait And Switch
If a picture paints a 1000 words, then this is the wrong picture. I'm pretty sure the cover picture shown of this score is the Intrada release, which is expanded, and the one I wanted. What I actually got, however, is the previous Varese release, which is a very truncated version of the score. Okay, of course, but not what I really wanted. I will be more careful in future.

This disc is wonderful. I am a big fan of Elmer Bernstein. He was an outstanding film composer and this score is no disappointment.

Brilliant Masterpiece and my favourite film from childhood whilst growing up in 90s.I don't know how Elmer Bernstein came up with this music but, he is a genius and knows how to make you feel with each individual piece made.
