EDIT: it seems I had a defective unit. Customer service reached out to me and shipped me a new one at no cost. This one works well and has been consistently quiet so far! Customer service is great if you happen to have received a bad air pump. It’s so cute and small, and it’s great when it works well—but it mostly doesn’t. 80% of the time it makes an incredibly loud and obnoxious rattling sound. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night from it suddenly going from average air pump sounds, to incredibly loud buzzing. I’ve attached a video of the noise—you can see when I pick it up, it’s fine. I haven’t figured out a way to fix it, but I’ve tried taping it, wrapping it in a towel etc. bummer because it’s only a few weeks old

I bought this for my 10 gallon bowl which I was hoping not to have to use a filter or airstone because it is heavily planted. My very few starter fish seemed to be struggling for air after a few days so I quickly got this and the change was dramatic. Everyone is much happier and it even seemed to clear up the hazy looking water. The sound is very minimal and what you'd expect- some bubbling sound and light humming which is he vibration of the unit. I am very pleased with this little purchase as it was better than expected and easy to install as well. I definitely recommend.

Perfect for my 20-gallon freshwater fish tank. I had the stone that came with it on for almost a year and switched to a filter attachment, and it fit perfectly. I like being able to mount it on the back of my dresser. It is not very quite though, so I glued padding on the back of the dresser to minimize the vibrating noise, and it is now quieter.

This air pump works perfectly for my sponge filter. Its fairly small, fairly simple to put together, I read some comments that said it was on the "louder" side, but I have to disagree, this is very quiet. Although, I think it could be loud depending on where you set it. Personally, I hung it on the wall behind my tank stand and I don't hear it at all.

If all you need is a small air pump for tank no more than 10 gal, this air pump will do great job. This air pump is made with very simple construction with very little mechanism that would wear and tear. I can hear a small hum, but if you attach a string and hang it on a hook, you will not hear a thing. I would take this air pump than many other small air pumps, such as USBs and ceramic plate.

I like the size but it is so loud. I wish it was adjustable. I have to use a Bobby pin to reduce the flow.

So I love that this thing is quiet as well. I use this for one of my sponge filters and you just barely hear it hygger is literally one of my favorite aquatic products to have especially if you have a filter that requires an air pump they have top notch so yeah I would recommend this. The airflow is perfect. It doesn’t stress the fish out. It’s not strong. it’s very gentle and yeah, you get a two year warranty if anything goes wrong.

Fine simple air pump for small tank (3 gallon). Good price I think for what it is and how it works.

Works just as well as higher priced competitors pumps I will say that I wouldn’t recommend putting it in a tank under 20 gallons though as it’s pretty powerful and creates a lot of water circulation. I’m changing my review to give this 1star niw as it stopped working the other day.
