Wonderful collection
This is such a great bedtime storybook! It has many cozy short stories that are easy and quick to read. My daughter enjoyed this immensely. It should be noted that these stories are old and have some views and customs. This reminded me so much of my grandmother, and it just took me back to Norway and my childhood. Mrs. Pepperpot is a resourceful lady who manages to think her way out of any sticky situation. These stories are suitable for any age.

Twee fun
These are rather twee, but if you read Mrs Pepperpot as a child these are the stories you remember. They are also the perfect length for a bedtime story for a 2-3 year old, long enough to have them calm down and short enough that you're not continuing to read while they sleep.

Stories that teach children problem solving
Do you know the stories about Mrs Pepperpot? The little old lady who shrinks to the size of a pepperpot at the most inconvenient moments and has lots of amazing adventures. I loved the Mrs Pepperpot books as a young girl and I have read them to both my sons. From an adult perspective I can see how beneficial these stories are to children as they have a strong theme of thinking of solutions to problems and difficulties.Mrs Pepperpot endlessly ends up in a pickle due to her shrinking to a tiny size. She finds interesting ways to clean her house, get her washing done and dry and make pancakes for supper. She makes a plan when her attempt to learn how to swim goes awry when she shrinks and she gets a frog in the pond to teach her breast stroke. She also manages to turn a kidnapping by a crow to her advantage and become the Queen of the crows. My favourite story is when Mrs Pepperpot promises three very posh and snooty ladies to make gingerbread for a local bazaar. She shrinks while the gingerbread is baking and it burns to a crisp. Mrs Pepperpot feels she must donate a prize and so she gets her young friend, Hannah, to dress her up as a mechanical doll and take her to the bazaar in a box as a prize. The three unpleasant ladies get a nasty shock when they make unkind comments about the funny old lady who had promised to send gingerbread.Mrs Pepperpot is also a lady with a very kind heart. She befriends needy children and animals and helps them out of unfortunate situations. She manages to deliver a Christmas present to Hannah in the middle of a snowstorm even though she inconveniently shrinks just as she is planning to leave home.If you haven’t read any of the Mrs Pepperpot stories I really recommend that you find a reason to do so. They are so much fun.

Great Read!
Writing this review, halfway through the book. The book is written many decades ago, so while reading to this generation, few things are difficult from current times. However, it s a great read. My daughter had several lol moments. This has become her favourite bed time read now. Overall it's an experience that's worth it!

Quirky, funny stories
Old fashioned, quirky stories that my 7 year old enjoyed having read to her. Some old fashioned ideas but rather fun stories
