Good basic cargo carrier
I was able to assemble this with my sons help in about an hour or so. The directions are straight forward and simple. You do need to ensure the two platform pieces are even with each other when assembling as they will have a tendency to sag toward the outer edges of the carrier if you are not mindful of this when assembling. I added a 10 inch hitch riser to lift it a little to improve my departure angel with my SUV as well as some anti rattle stabilizers. I haven't loaded it up yet, but I placed a very heavy cooler on one end to see if it would sag and it did not. So far so good.

Recommended. Sturdy and spacious.
Finally put it together the other day in about an hr and was able to nicely carry an elliptical machine without taking it apart.

Simple and tough...
Simple to install and assemble, well built and a good value compared to other similar products on Amazon. This one gets my vote!

Dimensions conflict between description and detail.
The initial product description states the product is 60 inches wide. The product detail list the dimensions as follows: 31.7 x 24.5 x 3.5 inches. I assume the detail is wrong??

Great outside-of-vehicle accessory that frees up inside-of-vehicle space
Great accessory to free up space inside the vehicle when traveling without having to use a roof rack. Worked easily with our trailer hitch.

Great carrier so far!
We needed this to haul an RV waste tank, which when full weighs about 250 lbs. We've made one trip to town so far and you'd never even know it is on the back of the car. One note-the directions show the bolts that attach the 2 sections together going from the outside in, meaning you loose your 25" inch width. We reversed them when we realize this as the tank needs to be wheeled up a set of ramps and into the carrier and then across the tray to center it-the bolt ends and nuts were in the way. Will be using it as a bike carrier the rest of the time.

Be careful purchasing
Need to hone out the hitch pin hole to clear debris out.Flimsy platform, tack welds on edges are sketchy. I put a Honda cr70 on it and it sure shows weakness and for a bike that weights 110 lbs and this is rated for up to 500 lbs? I DONT THINK SO! Do not purchase unless your willing to modify to strengthen.

Came quick and did the job
I didn't give this five stars because it comes in a box and has to be bolted together. It would have been much more sturdy if all the edge angle iron were full length pieces. I may weld it all up one day yet. So far we've carried a 3000W Kipor generator about 500 km. It did the job and I would buy it again. It's a great addition for our Motorhome

Using it as a bike rack
I bought a cheap hitch bike rack and the forks bent on first use. Almost lost the bikes. I figured rather than spending the same or more on a sturdier rack, I got this cargo carrier instead. It's sturdier and more versatile. With some punched angle bar and https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B007VUXP1S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1, I don't worry about losing the bikes.

Flimsy and dangerous
It seemed flimsy to start, it’s two seperate pieces essentially bolted together where the hitch is. It ends up feeling like a bit of a teeter-totter… even a camping chair placed on the outside slightly bends the panel. I thought maybe this was on purpose… a design to allow for some motion? The first time I used it, it was fine though awkward because it has a clear wobble and is not straight depending on how it’s loadedThe second time, shortly after I strapped on my cargo, I was just leaving my house when one of the support brackets suddenly bent, making a loud noise. Turns out that noise was the entire right sided panel warping and buckling when the support spontaneously bent. As a result, my wratchet loosened and my propane tank fell into the road. The cargo holder has less than 100lbs on it.
