Great Quality. Can buy two for the price of the Sport edition with change to spare.
Up front, this is my first telephoto lens for my Canon 6D and 5DS so I have no other telephoto lens to compare to.If you are like me and are looking at reviews to see whether the Contemporary or Sports versions are better, the answer is likely the Contemporary.TL;DR, the Contemporary version will yield similar picture results, is cheaper, and much lighter to carry. The Sports version is for those who constantly find themselves shooting in harsh climates (dust, rain, humid). My review:This lens is extremely quick, and very sharp at most focal lengths. I would advise using a tripod or monopod on the must-have shots. Hand carrying my 5DS with this attached produced significant blurriness on nearly half the shots, and while that's still a decent haul on a test run, I'd much rather have those 50% of shots. Point and fact though, it is light enough to hand carry, something I've heard the sports edition isn't great at. Where I was able to prop the lens against a fence or bench, the shots came out very crisp. Due to the lighter construction, it doesn't feel as robust, especially against the elements, something I've heard the sports edition IS great at. The actuating components are resistive and smooth, but the housing feels "lightweight." This is a pro and a con, but for me it was more pro than con. I bought the contemporary lens because it fits my shoot style of always on the go and clicking shots as they come. I use it now with a lightweight monopod for added stability at long focal lengths and have been happy with the results. It's replaced my 70-200mm Sport on most trips. The sports edition specs show that it is better for harsh environments, what I imagine desert or beach scenes to be, maybe even rain. Keeping moisture and dust out of the large chambers is a bit of a hassle on telephoto zooms and I've read the sport edition takes this into account. I decided against the sport in the end because it was heavy and I wouldn't want to lug it around on a busy or long trip. Someone pointed out that the contemporary lens is less than half the price of the sports lens. So if you were willing, you could take the contemporary lens out to a harsh environment, perhaps it gets ruined, perhaps not...but you could buy a second one and still come out cheaper than buying the sports lens in the first place. That's a pretty fantastic selling point if you ask me because there is no guarantee the sports lens will not get ruined in the same environment, and if it does, it's a much more expensive lens.

Fantastic Lens - with 1 caveat
This is a really great lens for the price. Images are very clear and performs really well for taking bird photos. The pictures I’ve taken (and included here) are on an old T2i.Caveat: If you are wanting to use this on a newer R series Canon camera with the Ef-rf adapter, the lens works but has serious focus pulsing issues on smaller subjects (ie. small birds) when using the eye detection AF, which is a big feature of these newer cameras. There are some settings changes on both the lens and the camera that have been detailed by a couple of photographers on YouTube, that reduce the pulsing but don’t eliminate it.TLDR: an excellent lens on EF Mount cameras. For the money it’s a steal. It has issues on RF Mount cameras that make it frustrating but still good to use.

Great Telephoto Lens for the Price!
I'm a photo-journalist and a wildlife photographer for our senior newspaper. I use a Canon 80D body with several Canon zoom lens. Although I use a Vivitar 1300mm manual focus super telephoto lens for really long shots, I needed an auto focus telephoto lens and saw the great reviews on this Sigma 150-600 lens.I've had the Sigma lens for about two weeks. I'm impressed how fast the auto focus works in milliseconds as you can see with the Canadian geese in flight. What makes this lens even more appealing is the fact it focuses on the correct subject. when shooting through tree branches of these three geese. The half moon was taken at sunset, but nice job on the focusing at 600mm. The Herring or California Gull at 100 feet was a treat as these are unusual in my area. The zoom shot of Meeker and Long's Peaks is located 30 miles away. The Calico cat was on the move at about 500 feet, but the auto focus worked well. And last, just a shot of a small rabbit at 30 feet in my yard. The lens is well built and of course slightly heavy, but with the amount of glass elements included, not a surprise! The optical stabilizer (OS) works very well as I hand held the camera and lens with the above shots. Like others say, it's difficult to hold the camera and lens as it is somewhat heavy without a monopole or tripod. The optical stabilizer does make a big difference! It has two OS settings for both horizontal or vertical movements.I purchased the bundle for a great price. The bundle has great quality products such as the triple filters by Vivitar, Altura backpack and monopole, cleaning kit, and the SanDisk 64GB SDXC Class 10 card. Even the lens came with a nice cushioned zippered bag. For the cost of less $940, it's a great bargain provided by Digital Goja. Overall, I'm very happy!

Amazing lens
This is my go-to wildlife lens. The picture quality is unlike anything Ive seen before. I have not found the need to program it or anything. Just perfect pictures straight out of the box.I'll definitely be looking towards Sigma for my next lens

Not everything is included in discription
The item I ordered came in a timely manner. Although it did not come with everything added in the discription. I didn't recieve the mono pod shown in the photo and the USB dock. The lens itself works great, I just would like to get everything I ordered in this package . Thanks
