This is overall a great solution. The mount is well made, more compact than I expected (in a good way), and looks good in my car. The magnet works great, and the metal plate slipped inside my case with no trouble. The added bulk slightly pulls the sides of the case away from the screen. I'd recommend using it with a standard case, not a "slim" one with virtually no bumpers around the display.I had a little trouble with the suction plate. My car dashboard does not have any truly flat surfaces and, combined with texturing, it fell off the first two locations I tried for. Can't really fault the device though - it isn't designed for curves surfaces, and does appear to be well made. I found a spot that is flatter and smoother, and it's been happily stuck there ever since.Quite tempted to buy a few more of these and put them in our other car, by my bed, on my desk, near the stove and everywhere I often leave the phone while using it.

Perfect with my Nexus 5 without adapters, for Waze and as a dashcam . Will stick to textured surfaces/dashboards.
Mount:I bought this while I wait for the new Logitech +Drive to drop in price. The dimensions are about the same and the magnets strength seems close enough as far as I can remember.Like the +Drive, this mount uses a magnet to hold the device using a metal plate to be inserted in the back of a case or an adhesive square to be attached to the back of the device. The overall footprint of this mount is very small.Suction cup:The suction cup is both very strong as a suction cup, and I think sticky... or something... I can just about guarantee it WILL still stick to textured surfaces/dashboards without sticking a hard flat sticker [for the suction cup to stick] to your vehicle (like the +Drive, and other mounts I've seen). Adapters (a very slim piece of metal and what looks like magnet back with a 3M adhesive side):I have a Nexus 5 so the mount actually works perfectly (perhaps better) without either of those, thanks to magnets surrounding the wireless charging coil inside of the device. If my Nexus 5 is in a case I take it out because bumpy roads can have it shaken off the mount. A metal or grippy case, or a case with the included "adapter" pieces would probably work, but I use wireless charging and they interfere with that... and like I said, the N5 is probably better off naked since it has magnets inside (afaik). My usage: Waze and DailyRoads Voyager (dash cam app)I use my mount overhead, sticking to the mirror cover in my visor. This allows me to have it centered above me for somewhat ambidextrous use, as well within much better range for hotword detection and voice commands (Ok Google Everywhere!). I can hear it, and it can hear me. I have a USB cable that runs all the way up to it.I would have had it centered on the dashboard or along the left side of the windscreen but the sun is too hot here in Houston, and my N5 would wind up powering off to protect itself. I use Waze or a dashcam app, so the device can already get pretty warm recording video using GPS and with the display on.

Unexpected break after one day...
So I read the reviews, and this seemed like the item I wanted. The idea is simple and works exactly as I want it to. Here I was all worried about the suction cup coming off in heat. Well I put the item in my car one, drove to work in a different car the next day, and when I came home, I was glad to see that the suction cup was still working (although it would've been pretty upsetting if it hadn't after one day). However, the OTHER end was broken... I had yet to even use the product in my car and the part that end holds the magnet and allows your phone to swivel no longer holds. If I put my phone on it, it just faces down because it can no longer hold any sort of weight....I'm incredibly disappointed that in just one day of sitting in my car, not even being used, it's already broken. I can attest that the suction cup can withstand heat at least to the point of the car sitting in the sun with black interior on a warm day but this does not mean anything when the other end can no longer support the weight of my phone. All in all, the magnet works and still does (at least fairly well) and the suction cup seems fine but if after one day the other end can't even hold the weight of a few paper clips, I will never buy or recommend this product to anyone.

Great product, amazing seller.
The quality of this product is only surpassed by the amazing service of the company, Marlow's Mercantile. The suction mount on this product is amazing! It sticks where others do not and stays put. Also, I've purchased some phone mounts were the weight of the phone eventually tears the suction cup, not this mount. It works well on dashboard and windshield. It's small enough that if you use a windshield screen when you are parked, you don't have to remove the mount. The magnetic connection is really cool. No clips to fuss with (and possibly get lost). I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. With no case on, it works with a metallic plate inserted inside, just in front of the battery. With the heavy duty Redpepper Waterproof Case on that my daughter bought for me, it needs the stick on metallic plate stuck to the back of the case. But that's enough to keep it on the mount. It holds strong, but is super easy to pop on and off.Although I haven't tried it yet, I think it would be great at the office on your desk. Company also recommends using as a stable "tripod" for taking photos and videos with smartphone. Great idea.Marlow's Mercantile is amazing. A small business, they work super hard with every customer. They sell great products at great prices. Shipping is fast. And they're very helpful by email before and after the sale if you have any questions.I don't think I'll have to replace the Magnetic Phone Mount anytime soon, but I may just buy extra ones for our other car and my office. :)
