Very light flavor and not keen on plastic tea bags
I drink matcha every morning either frothed up directly or as a matcha latte. When I saw these green tea bags with matcha I was interested after a friend and mentioned she started drinking these. So far I'm underwhelmed with this green tea and matcha combination. I poured my first cup with hot boiled water and found the taste to be very mild and barely present. So I thought maybe it was because I used boiling water. With matcha I usually need to cool the water to under 170F or the subtle flavors are lost so the second time I drank this I made sure to keep the water temperature lower. It didn't seem to make a difference and still produced a fairly weak cup of tea. So the third time I made sure to not just lower the temperature but to also brew this in 6oz of water rather than 8oz of water. With 6oz of water and lower temps and longer seep time I was finally able to get some of the flavors out of this tea. Unfortunately the longer seep time results in more of that bittersweet notes that come out of green tea leaves when they are steeped too long. The matcha flavor is lost against the green tea flavors and only adds little to this tea. My rating for the tea itself I would say this is somewhere between a 3 to 4 stars. However, I dropped the rating for this to 3 stars mainly because it uses plastic tea bags. We are not a plastic free family but we try to reduce our consumption of single use plastic. The other issue with plastic in tea bags, beside the environmental impact, is the possibility of the plastic tea bags leaching phthalates into the tea.Review For:Organic Single-origin Japanese Matcha Green Tea 緑抹茶 (Ryoku-Matcha) 20 Tea Bags by Tea Kitamura

Something new to try - Green Tea with Matcha Green Tea.
This morning was a good time to give this Tea Kitamure Green Tea with Matcha from Japan, a trial run. I'm used to black tea, so the green teas are still in the experimental stage around here, also I've never had Matcha. So, I guess two experiments! Well, my morning drink was not bad at all. There was a hint of grassiness, that I understand is the usual signature of green teas. Green tea is made using the leaves and buds of the Camellia sinensis plant, and not fermented as long as the black tea, so not as much caffeine and is more calming. I looked up Matcha and discovered it too is green tea (also Camellia sinensis plant) but finely ground. The plants for Matcha are grown in the shade, creating a more powerful caffeine content, and concentrated taste. Probably the same amount of caffeine as black tea. Anyway, a morning drink it will be! The tea has a lot of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which apparently makes it quite healthful. Not sure about the steeping time for green as opposed to black, but figure it's not as long. Nothing listed on the package of 20 triangular-shaped bags. I steeped my cup at 2 minutes, no more - because the Matcha is actually a powder and doesn't require a lot of time. The tea had a stronger taste than I expected, thought it would be more delicate. Tried it plain, then added milk - my preferred way with any tea, or coffee. It's a nice change of pace, so will continue.

Full Bodied Flavor; Extremely High Quality
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. If you are the kind of person who prefers a very full bodied flavored green tea then this is right up your alley. This stuff is definitely not weak tasting or watered down by any means. It has a deep robust green tea taste to it that has grassy after notes but absolutely no bitterness because this is very high quality and you can tell that the leaves have been picked when they are at their peak freshness and have had minimal heating or processing. The color of these tea leaves are very vibrant green and so is the tea as it steeps. There are no brown hues to this. Very high quality tea. The tea bags are all inside of a foil pouch that helps to keep them fresh while keeping the light out. There is also an oxygen absorber in the pouch as well to help keep away the moisture. Calm alertness from the l-theanine, easy to brew, subtler flavor, energizing
These Ryoku-Matcha green tea bags are easy to brew and offer a similar flavor and calming benefit to traditional whisked-powder, organic, matcha green tea. The flavor of the brew isn't overwhelming as is the case for under-whisked matcha green teas or some of the more commercialized matcha green tea bag brewed variants. The concentrated matcha flavor of this blend is discernible from the green tea leaves' flavor profile as well, though it's subtle and more of an afterthought after finishing each sip. Contrast this with the more pronounced bitter taste of competitor matcha teas and you'll find this is much smoother. It's great for daily consumption. The fact that it's sourced from Kyushu Japan and certified organic by Japanese authorities is also a plus in my book. With the taste and ingredient quality taken into account, I'd recommend this brand if you're willing to pay just a slight premium for better matcha and/or don't want to whisk your own matcha green tea.

Tastes good!
This is great quality stuff! I've enjoyed trying this as a bagged tea which means it is easy to make a good cup for myself. I've been on a tea experimental journey recently by trying many new flavors and types of teas from around the world! This particular one combines the flavors and benefits of organic green tea and organic matcha powder which are Superfoods because of their antioxidant properties and some of which have been used as traditional/Eastern medicine for a really long time. This is a fairly high caffeine drink as it only contains real tea unlike herbal products out there. It contains twenty tea bags and weighs 1.4 ounces as it is dried tea. Product of Kyushu, Japan. I like and think it's really neat how it lists their website on the front for further information. Overall I like and would recommend it both hot and cold. It even helped me with some stomach troubles the other day which was nice.
