What crap!
Save your time. I couldn't even watch it to the end. I can't believe Johnny Depp agreed to play a cameo in this horrible movie. Amber Heard is very attractive and plays the "femme fatal" well, as long as she has no text. She has several scenes where she shows her beautiful body. This was the only reason I wanted to watch the movie, the rest one better forgets. Her acting is less than convincing or I am just not able to believe anything she says because of her trial performance. I also thought Billy Bob-Thornton played in more classier movies, but maybe not. The plot almost doesn't matter. AH basically seduces 3 men, one after the other. I wish I would have picked another movie to watch. I was curious. That's all.

WOW!!! DID THIS MOVIE BOMB AT THE BOX OFFICE!!!!
....but it's okay, a disposable movie, and of course Ms. Amber Heard looks terrific, which is WHY one purchases this movie. Understand the story is told from actor Billy Bob Thornton's character's viewpoint, but it's about Amber Heard's character. All in all, I enjoyed it.

No point, but strangely enthralling
I've not read the book but the movie was rather aimless yet enthralling and stylish. Great cast though Sturgess, I'm afraid, terribly overacts; Amber is quite good, she really plays the part of the tragic femme fatale. Depp is sheer perfection in his brief moments.RIP Martin Amis author of the magnificent The Zone of Interest (also a phenomenal film).

Most books turned into movies aren't as good, but this one is
Beautiful cinematography, beautiful people, even a cameo from Johnny Depp! Sumptuous from start to finish, transcends it's own self-criticism from within.

Most Underrated Movie Ever!!!
I'd give London Fields a 101 out of 100! From the novel of the same name by Martin Amis, London Fields is a must have for all Amis fans, particularly because he worked on the screenplay. The people who give this movie low marks aren't smart enough or educated enough to understand it. Further, London Fields has an all-star cast with Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Billy Bob Thornton, Jason Isaacs, Cara Delevingne, Jaimie Alexander, etc. While a black comedy like many of Amis' other works, London Fields posits that the tragedies in life arise from the fear of death and a failure to understand that NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS. While London Fields is a park in London that originally was a field, there are no fields in London. The movie concludes with the characters realizing that while they thought their world had been destroyed, what they wanted was right in front of their noses and everything ends well for them. A must have for all move lovers!

From book to trash can
Martin Amis writes highly stylistic stories with interesting characters interacting in unusual settings. This movie had a host of problems getting made and an equal number finally to get released. With Johnny Depp and Billy Bob Thornton, though, you figure you'd at least get some decent performances.Yet, in a word this movie is bad. Somehow the director got lost in a tangled mix of hip, shock, mystery and irony, with nothing to show for it. Forget about seeing the interesting characters I mentioned as well. They're in the book, but they're not here. There are a few scenes in which Amber Heard shows off her beauty, but don't expect to see her doing any acting - then again, why would you? From words on a page to frames in a movie is a long, treacherous road.

When a book is described as 'unfilmable', heed the warning
The novel London Fields is one of my favorite books. It was considered unfilmable by most and in my opinion, the director who had a chance in hell of translating it to screen was Kubrick. The cast and crew of this .... I guess film... should all be ashamed of themselves. Every last grip, craft services person and producer who was paid in cocaine cut with used baby powder should have to change their surname to TurdFlinger and be forced to write sincere apologies to every person who loved this book. A book of that unveiled its secrets like a peony's petals in a slight breeze was bastardized into cakefarts and stepping on rakes.Where to start? Casting.Nicola Six was described as intelligent and beautiful in a disquieting way. She was exotic with an slightly oversized mouth who haunted men with dangerous visions. I always envisioned her as Angelina Jolie. Amber Heard, on the other hand, is none of these things. She couldn't convey the feeling of falling if you pushed her off a high ledge. She wouldn't come across as sensual if you gave her a dozen oysters, a fistful of roofies and a Hitachi magic wand. Her clumsy attempts at showing emotions non verbally are less subtle than writing the word on her forehead with a sharpie.

Sin City?
This movie is based on the Martin Amis book. The film reminded a bit of Sin City in that it often stands outside itself looking in and so has an ironic quality to it which unfortunately kills some of the immediacy. Characters sometimes feel like they are just playing characters. The premise though is somewhat interesting in that one of the characters feel that they are just setting into motion their inevitable death. And of course there is something of a twist ending though not as interesting as maybe I would have hoped. This is a so so movie that tried to do something interesting but didn't quite manage it in a convincing manner. Still I would recommend it for what it does succeed in which is to keep my interest up to the end.The actual quality of the image is very good, but there were no special features.
