Cure Gum Disease Naturally: Heal and Prevent Periodontal Disease and Gingivitis with Whole Foods [Nagel, Ramiel, Danenberg DDS, Alvin] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Cure Gum Disease Naturally: Heal and Prevent Periodontal Disease and Gingivitis with Whole Foods Review: Changed my thinking about dental health 100%! - I have read more helpful information regarding dental health in Ramiel Nagal's books than in all of my big (and pricey) pile of so-called "healthy diet" books. In clear, non-ambiguous and well-supported language -- and drawing from his own personal and family experience -- Nagal explains that gum health is the product of balanced "mouth and blood PH." He offers very convincing evidence that diet matters when it comes to maintaining dental AND bodily health. The book includes copious suggestions and rationale for the non-SAD diet, ranging from bare-bones simple for minor gum/tooth issues to "all-in" aggressive for severe dental problems. It isn't news that sugar and processed carbohydrates are much to blame for dental woes, but very surprising is how damaging extensive and/or invasive dental procedures can be to our oral and bodily health and well-being. Nagal does not demonize dentists, but gives suggestions for finding and choosing dentists that support a more holistic approach to tooth health, along with questions you can ask your dentist in order to be on the same page with him/her for dental health. Due to ongoing gut issues related to wheat and dairy, my diet has been restricted; pursuing a dairy- and wheat-free version of the Weston Price diet (after a long stretch vegan/vegetarianism) has helped tremendously. However, I still struggle with a sweet tooth, necessitating filling at least three or four cavities over the past few years because of my indulgence. And, since I still have all my wisdom teeth and it is difficult to do a good job of thorough brushing in that area, I developed sensitivity in one that was so severe that I dreaded dental cleanings for fear the hygienist would scrape it with one of her instruments and cause me to jump out of the chair. In the end, I allowed the dentist to apply a composite layer over the spot and it has been better, but the gum around the tooth area remained a bit spongy and prone to bleeding. I was thus anxious to try Nagal's dietary suggestions and am happy to say that after ten days eating to balance the PH in my mouth I went for my six-month cleaning and -- hallelujah! -- the sensitivity was nearly non-existent and the gum area has improved. I encourage anyone who has chronic or even nagging minor dental issues to read both of his books and especially his information for children. My granddaughter at age seven lost one of her primary (thank goodness not secondary) teeth because it rotted. As she is picky about food and her diet has been composed mainly of processed carbohydrates, fruit and grain products, it was very easy to deduce that the decay was related to unbalanced oral chemistry. Needless to say, I bought Nagal's book for her parents so that they can make changes now that will benefit her and her younger sister's total health for years to come. In short, I highly recommend this book and his other book, Cure Tooth Decay. Review: Eye opening! - If you're looking for your dental care to be integrated into your whole body integrated care, this book educates and educates and educates. I've spent the entire week reading carefully through this book and his other book, Cure Tooth Decay. Both are outstanding! Before you let a dentist tell you your treatment plan, empower yourself and know that you can take immediate steps naturally. There are MANY natural options available that could potentially save you much pain, money and more importantly, your health. The cost of purchasing the book is minuscule compared to the ever mounting expenses you can realize in obtaining traditional dental care. I'm terrified of dentists and needed to obtain a 2nd and even 3rd opinion for my treatment. After consulting with three dentists this past week, each one recommending progressively more aggressive treatments one after the other, I knew I needed to look for other more gentler alternatives. As I read thru the books, I made changes and implemented treatment plans that I could start at home. In just one week, I see positive results and now understand how and why my dental condition came to be. I still have a long ways to go, but at least now I'm not as terrified and I know I there are alternatives I can pursue. Do yourself a favor and read this book. You'll be glad you did!

Most informative dental book that I have ever read!
For me, I have read MANY books regarding Gum Disease before this book and after reading it (more than once), I must say it is by far the BEST! You see, I have Gingivitis and want to reverse it. Since I will be going back to the dentest soon, I want to be be prepared. This book has helped me enormously because of the information about proper diet, vitamins and so much more. I especially like the charts, pictures. After reading thus book, my questions were answered. Yes, I still dislike going to the dentist yet this book is encouraging me before I go to my dentist. It is a long road that I travel with Gingivitis, so thank goodness for this excellent book. It is totally a keeper! I highly recommend this outstanding book.

Great Book, good for overall health
I got gum disease as a result of poor eating habits. Periodontist was ready to do surgery. Looked like it would be a never ending problem, no real cure. I cleaned up my diet, read this book. The author sees gum disease as a whole body health problem. I believe this book has good ideas for anyone who wants to improve their overall health or fight any disease problem. $18. book saved me at least $1,000. plus the pain and misery of gum surgery and probably future gum surgeries. Well worth it! Ideas are based a lot on the the book "Nutrition and Physical Degneration," a solid foundation.

It works!
I'll go to the dentist soon, and then will really see how this has helped, but I can already tell these practices have made my gums healthier at some level! No more bleeding, even though I'm 8 months pregnant now!!! No more flabby gums or loose feeling teeth. THANK YOU. UPDATE: The dentist exam showed only size 1-2 pockets, not 4-6! I was so excited as she called out the numbers. I told her about what I had learned here, but she said diet had nothing to do with the change. I even asked, "Didn't you tell me the gum disease was incurable?" "Yes." "And it's better now, after my natural remedies?" "Well, those don't help at all. Even if you came 4 times a year and had scaling and planing, it wouldn't cure it." She couldn't admit this worked, but there's no other explanation!

I bought these 4 books recently: 1.Cure Tooth Decay: Heal And Prevent Cavities With Nutrition 2.Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth and Gums 3. The Dental Diet: The Surprising Link between Your Teeth, Real Food, and Life-Changing Natural Health 4. Cure Gum Disease Naturally: Heal and Prevent Periodontal Disease and Gingivitis with Whole Foods They're all good books in their own way. You actually just need one of books as they're all quite similar. What I learned is you need fat soluble vitamins like K2, D3, A and calcium/magnesium. Protein is beneficial while too many carbohydrates/starches/fruits might hinder the healing process. All authors promote an animal-based diet while Ramiel Nagel calls the vegetarian diet as inferior while I personally have no judgment. All authors suggest to avoid refined grains and processed sugars. I personally enjoyed Holistic Dental Care a tad more due to its simplicity. All of these books will change the way you think, eat, act and essentially live. It was important for me to buy multiple books on the same topic so I can get a broader view on the serious matter at hand; doctors, dentists, and fashionable diets are not here to love and care for you. This will take you down to the dragon's lair as you explore health. Skin health Hair health Nail health Mouth health Mental health Emotional health Digestive health Organ health Spiritual health Planetary health Cosmic health In fact, health is just right under our nose and inside our mouths. Becareful what you put inside your gate/orifice/mouth and becareful what comes out of it with curses/words/oaths/jinxes/hexes. You always have a choice to eat or to fast, to take or to give and to die or to thrive. Poison can be packaged into the most delightful, enticing, sweet and creamy dessert. Resist the temptations. It will pass. Don't feed the parasites/cravings. Be strong and be a warrior of health. You will heal. I will heal. We will heal.

Ramiel Nagel does not have a background in dentistry or orthodontics. Firstly, I bought this book thinking he knew what he was talking about. It's true a Weston a Price based diet is essential for nourishing the body. But the author thinks you need to omit nuts, most grains including sourdough and is excessive, borderline obsessive with the strict dietary restrictions which are not necessary. He doesn't ever mention white oak bark which is an astringent and helps gums and teeth, he is against xylitol which has been proven to remineralise teeth and reverse cavities, and he doesn't prioritise probiotic rich foods which could improve the gut bacteria and reverse of stop most of these issues. His book touts 100 supplements which strangely, he had provided links too (I assume for some type of affiliate link perhaps) regardless of this, I was able to find better and free resources. Look into jaw expansion MARPE or MSE or even FME to help with retractive orthodontics and the issues from it, look into Donna Schwenk for milk kefir and other probiotic goodies and look into an ancient bark called white oak bark alba quercus. I don't think you need to take abnormal amounts of calcium, bones, kelp, vitamin C, vitamin D and a, sure some food based supplements could help but his two books left me feeling panicked and hopeless and worried about eating most of the healthy things that are recommended by Weston a Price.

My dentist told me eight months ago I had serious gum disease but he couldn't explain how that could have appeared from nowhere despite my history of reasonable oral health. Faced with the choice of submitting to an ยฃ800 course of invasive gum cleaning, I went away and thought about it. I had a hunch that it could have been due to my experiment with vegan eating (not doing it properly I suspected). After searching the internet, I bought and read 'Cure Gum Disease Naturally'. Ramiel Nagel's advice confirmed my suspicions about my diet so I started using the cronometer.com food diary to check the nutrient status of my diet. It revealed that it was seriously deficient in calcium, magnesium, fat soluble vitamins and other key nutrients. Within weeks of adjusting my diet to hit my nutrient targets my gum sensitvity had gone and it's stayed away for eight months so far. Keeping a food diary, and adjusting my diet as required to hit my nutrient targets, does seem 'obsessive' as a friend calls it. However, it helped me solve a serious problem and allowed me to avoid an ยฃ800 bill for invasive, and hopefully avoidable, oral treatment, so for me it's worth the effort. The other advice I took was to stop using mouthwash that an earlier hygienist had recommended. Apparently we have several hundred species of bacteria in our mouth and only a few are potentially harmful. Using mouthwash is like using antibiotics: it wipes out the good bacteria. The key, apparently, is not to attempt to disinfect your mouth: far more important is to make sure that your diet supports good oral health. My diet did not! I remain grateful to Ramiel for his diligent and impartial (he is not a dentist!) research and advice and also recommend his other book 'Cure Tooth Decay: Heal and Prevent Cavities with Nutrition'.
