😀. JUST BUY. IT. 😀 It'll make you feel good !
I have followed Jeff Lynne for over 50 years now learning to play the guitar with his Idle Race and Birthday Party albums. ( check them out, they still hold their own even after all this time ) . His work with Roy Wood was legendary and then he gave us E.L.O., The Travelling Willburys, working closely with George Harrison ( Jeff even produced and completed George s last album ) . I think of him as a Musicians Musician the man seems incapable of doing a thing wrong ....... But you probably know all this........ What you won't know is back in the day ........ I took a girl I fancied to one of his 70's concerts at Wembley and she stayed wit me for over three years........... I have a very great deal to thank him for !When you consider not only did Jeff produce this album , he wrote all the songs and apart from a tambourine and a little hand clapping here and there played every instrument on every track . The man is a genius . I love the album and will now have to get it in Vinyl ...... It's a keeper . No point in going on and on about it JUST BUY IT ! The " feel good " factor is off the scale !

Strong album , solo Jeff Lynne still has a knack with catchy hooks and melodic songs
This is all good stuff, his 2nd recent album under the "Jeff Lynne's ELO" moniker, where he plays virtually all of the instruments himself. 10 new songs all around the 3 minute mark, with catchy melodies . If you liked his last album, then this will hit the mark for you too. There are a few tracks that immediately hit the spot, such as "Down Came the Rain", and " The Time of Our Life" fondly remembering a 2017 Wembley gig with 70,000 ecstatic fans.It is perhaps not up there with his absolute classic hits with his original band, but it is still fine soft rock easy listening which will be popular with his many fans. Jeff now has nothing to prove, and could be relaxing sitting on his laurels, so it is fantastic that this rock veteran still has the enthusiasm and commitment to write and release new songs. The first time I listened to the new album it all washed over me a bit, but after a 2nd and 3rd play the ear worm hooks start to engage, and individual tracks become more distinct and memorable. So I think this will definitely grow on you with repeated listens. Some of the songs cover longstanding themes, like "Sci-Fi Woman" harking back to Out of the Blue references, and the artwork on the cover shows yet another variation on the familiar spaceship cover that has become his distinct trademark. It is a pity he was not a bit more adventurous on a couple of tracks, perhaps stretching out for a longer song, or varying from his well trodden track record formula . It is perhaps all a tad too familiar and cosy, but he knows what he is good at, maybe thinking if it ain't broke then don't fix it , and it will certainly please his multitude of fans..The album is short by modern CD standards, clocking in at less than 33 minutes in total. It received a supportive 4 star review in Mojo Magazine, and is definitely a bit stronger and more consistent than his previous comeback album. I am sure it will be a popular Christmas present gift buy for many. You will not be disappointed if you like previous ELO, this will be a safe bet, both the singing and playing are of a consistent high standard, no real weak tracks, it all hangs together well as an album. The tempos do vary, with several faster tracks, mixed with some slower ballads such as closer "Songbird".It is just lacking a real memorable standout classic track, and could have been more innovative, but it is a safe bet that will appeal to existing ELO fans.

A great album
Been an ELO/Jeff Lynne right from the start, and they are my favourite band ever, just love all their songs. Though not now the original band, Jeff Lynne is the mastermind behind all their music, and the musicians he's gathered together for the recent albums are all excellent musicians. I've seen them live twice now, my very first time was the 'Alone In The Universe' concert at Wembley in 2017, from which followed the live show on CD & DVD 'Wembley of Bust', then their concert at The First Direct Arena, Leeds in 2018. Both times their performances were excellent, the original sounds and productions spot-on. The current album, 'From Out Of Nowhere' I love, and though maybe not one of Jeff's strongest albums, it still gets 5 stars from me.

How does he keep doing it?
Jeff Lynne has had one of the longest and most illustrious recording careers of anyone. In the 70's - in charge on ELO - he propelled them to being the most successful, biggest selling band in the world. Since then he's written and produced for, Ringo Star, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, The Beatles, Roy Oberison, Del Shannon, Take That, and Brian Adam's as well as co-forming and producing The Travelling Wilburys. And after all of that he still makes new, fresh music. Is it classic ELO? No, it wasn't supposed to be, Lynne said on record a while back he would never return to grand orchestra's and choirs, but it is Jeff Lynne. So it's good!

Elo-Lynne-Elo-Lynne....
