Hello! Bri McKenzie here!As I was fumbling through Pinterest trying to make an itinerary for a weekend getaway, I had wished there was something way more easier to look through. Then I remembered, one of my favorite bloggers has a new guide book for Austin Texas! The minute I got it in the mail, I couldn’t put it down! It is literally everything you need when visiting Austin. She has thought of everything and I mean EVERYTHING when it comes to the perfect guide; especially if you haven’t been there. I think my favorite part is, it’s not just a list, it has all the photos of delicious meals, beautiful scenery and addresses! Also, it’s just the right size to fit right into my purse! That’s a huge A+A lot of my stress to build something for our weekend getaway has disappeared, now that I have this wonderful book! I cannot WAIT to see all the murals, try all the foods, and site seeing with my hubby in a couple weeks!Koko, you have made this so easy for us! You definitely out did yourself✨Thank you for this wonderful guide of Austin!🤍

I Can't Believe I paid twenty bucks for this
This is a small volume that is not easy to use because it is bound so tightly. I understand is was made in this small tightly bound format with thick paper for durability, but that leaves this book very user unfriendly. There are a lot of venues listed, but only a cursory amount of information is included on each of those venues listed. For instance this is what is informed for a great little taco venue I tried (twice) on east Cesar Chavez St., "Mexican restaurant with the cheapest and most generous Tex-Mex breakfast portions." That's it. This restaurant is also listed on the roster of best breakfast restaurants in Austin, but the listing gives no information as to where this place is located. In fact, none of the listings, and there are many, in this book give specific street addresses. There is no index. That is a big impediment to making this book useful. In the front, there are categories listed such as best lunches, best queso, best tacos, etc. There is also a categorization by neighborhood. That's nice if you are familiar with Austin, but is not helpful to first time visitors to the city. Book gets a D for being hard to handle physically, and being long on quantity and short on quality. Appears to be written by an Austin insider who is speaking to other Austin insiders.

perfect for on the go! Must need for newbies in Austin
Koko's guide is a perfect food guide for anyone that is new to the city of Austin. My first time going to Austin I was SO OVERWHELMED by all the restaurants the city had to offer. I tried to rely on Yelp, but even then I felt lost. This time around I came much more prepared, I had KOKO'S GUIDE TO AUSTIN. I love how she organizes the book depending on your mood. Do you want to base your food choice on the area you are in? perhaps you are craving a certain type of food? or you want to go somewhere specifically for lunch? This book organizes the restaurants in various ways that makes it easy for you to navigate through it. The best part about this book is that it is travel size! It fits in your purse or pocket, so you can refer to it at any time of day.

perfect sized Austin travel guide!
Being from Houston, Austin is a frequent easy weekend destination. I found jane’s blog via Instagram and have followed her for years now. This book is the greatest little guide to this city. I love the size and the bright color. The guide breaks down anything you’re looking for. Dessert? Got it. Dessert in south Austin? Got it. Dessert in south Austin open late? Got it. Not hungry but want to know where to get food drinks on a Tuesday in central Austin? Got it. You should be able to flip through and get where you need to be! Austin is amazing and this guide will definitely help. I love the little weekend plan and the mural wall locations! It’s all covered. I have friends constantly moving to Austin this is the perfect gift for new or old austinites! I will have my copy of this on every trip from now on.

A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE IN AUSTIN
This is the best travel book I have ever bought. I love that it is small enough to fit in my purse or my boyfriend's back pocket because it is lightweight and can be carried around all day. As an Austin local, I can confirm it has some of the best recommendations for food and fun places to sightsee/take pictures in the city. Plus, everything is so pleasing to look at...great illustrations and pictures! It is also very easy to find what you are looking for because it is categorized by what meals you want AND by areas in the city you might happen to be in. I strongly recommend anyone who lives here or is coming to visit buy this book for a fun and informative guide to Austin!

Perfect Pocket-Sized Comprehensive Guide to Austin's Food Scene
My husband and I were in the process of moving to Austin when I started following Koko on instagram. I was so excited when I saw she had written a book, I didn't want to wait until we got to Austin to buy it from a store there. Koko did such a great job with this guide. The book is separated by meal, type of food, location, and she also has sections dedicated to Austin murals and stores. Very comprehensive, with a little blurb about each business, as well as the price range and type. I absolutely recommend this guide for anyone who lives in TX or who will be spending time in Austin. It's small enough to fit in a bag or purse, perfect for exploring Austin.

Austin’s new food bible
I loved the fact that it not only breaks down by cuisine but also by neighborhood. The pictures are very well integrated and enticing. The section in the back for notes about your day trip or about somewhere you visited is genius. Very well planned out and a must have if you’re going to Austin on a culinary adventure. Be sure to incorporate the bucket list into your trip as well. Any Texas traveler should have a copy in the glovebox.

Two thumbs up and a must have for Austinites or visitors
After hearing Jane Ko talk about her Guide on an Austin TV station, I knew it was a must have. As a new resident of the city, the tips on places to eat at in KOKO’S GUIDE TO AUSTIN are great. My wife and I love to go out for date night or to find new places to eat at for any occasion and this guide covers it all. I would recommend this guide to any resident of Austin be they new or long time resident. This guide is a must have! Kudos to Jane Ko!
