Outstanding! I'm So Glad This Was The Book I Bought!
I've had a recent diagnosis of Gluten Intolerance and I was looking for a good book to teach me what I need to know to avoid wheat. I was completely overwhelmed with all the choices of books on "Gluten Free" living. However, having had excellent luck with other "Dummies" Books, I decided to get this one. I am SO glad I did! This book is totally comprehensive. It covers everything from getting the diagnosis to recognizing covert gluten ingredients to how to change your favorite recipes to make them gluten free and so much more.I expected to need to buy another book or two after this one to get a complete education on gluten free living, but now I don't need to - this book really taught me everything I needed to know.It is kind of scary to find out you have to stop eating wheat for the rest of your life - it can seem so overwhelming because wheat feels like it is in EVERYTHING at times. This book broke it down and made the lifestyle MUCH more managable for me.She also has a really good chapter on dealing with negative feelings regarding this kind of diagnosis. I have not dealt with the negative feelings she describes [my health has improved SO vastly that I can honestly say I don't miss wheat at all!], but I think that chapter would be incredibly helpful for people who ARE struggling with their diagnosis. The other thing I loved about this book is that it is so readable. The author is a great writer - she is witty, she includes little anecdotes from her life to help you understand what she's teaching, and the book is really entertaining to read. I was very afraid that it might be dry and "medical text book" type reading, but it is not at all. It is a fun, enjoyable read.I have already loaned out my copy of this to one gluten intolerant friend and I've purchased a second copy and given it to another friend who was recently diagnosed with Celiac. From now on, this book will be my go-to gift for all friends dealing with any gluten related illness. It is so helpful!Thank you for writing this book Ms. Korn! You have helped me and my family so incredibly much!

Good information, inconsistent theory / practice
As a newly diagnosed celiac, I've scoured the web for information on the gluten-free lifestyle I now have to lead. I found this book and read it cover to cover on my kindle inside of a week. I thought it was really good - down to earth - and made me feel better about the challenges I'll be facing; however, I had a few issues with the book. First, the author advocates a paleo type diet in the text, but the recipes aren't for paleo style food. Many of them use gluten-free substitutes or replacements. i.e. Eggs in a basket - instead of regular bread use GF! I can figure that out, thanks! I was looking for more / better ideas for things that are naturally GF.Also, what I need to do to clean my kitchen / discard was a bit unclear. I was hoping for more concrete guidelines. As it is, I plan to just scrub everything that doesn't go into the dishwasher down.

I'm a retired RN and found so much useful information from this book
This book and author are marvelous. I'm a retired RN and found so much useful information from this book. I was ill for 3 years causing me to retire a little early. I had so many serious symptoms that I started calling friends and family to tell them good-bye and how much I loved them. I honestly thought I was going to die. Doctors were just not able to get me diagnosed correctly. When I got this book I was shocked. Danna, author, listed 25 symptoms in the book and "voila".I was able to find that removing gluten from my diet was the only adjustment I needed to make. I am so grateful for this publication.

Happy I found this book !!
Very informative. This book is just what I need I was just diagnosed with Celica disease an I have been struggling to eat clean for the past few weeks. She teaches you how to dig for the information that you need to find out exactly what is in your foods to medications so there is no chance to be cross contaminated or very little chance. This book opened my eyes a little further then they had been around this disease. If you no nothing about it, pretty much like I did his book is a good place to start to understand how to live a clean eating healthy life.

Very helpful
I had been having many troubles and my Drs were not getting me to a place that I felt better. My mom suggested I try eating gluten free since a family friend having similar issues had started and felt so much better. To the best of my knowledge the Gluten free diet was just some fad diet that would just pass along. This book really helped me get a better understanding of being Gluten Intolerant or having Celiac disease. It is written by a woman who's son has to eat gluten free and she eats the same diet. It is a great begginers guide for information and helpful tips.

A no-nonsense approach to gluten-free living
I just found out that I have developed gluten sensitivity and this book helped me understand what that means. It starts with teaching you what gluten is, what it does, how to look for it in foods, and how to manage living without it. Well written, it really helped me to understand what I can and can't eat and how to read labels for those foods not clearly marked. I can now stop moaning about not being able to eat breads and pasta anymore, and learn to make them from scratch using gluten free products. Buying this book first would have saved me hours of internet research into gluten free living.

My Port In My Gluten-Free Diet Storm
I knew certain things: I had to be Gluten-Free permanently, I knew nothing, I was in pain, & I was scared. This book eased my immediate anxiety because of the humor & pathos of the author. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of a clear, concise list of what foods/products are Gluten Free, and which are to be avoided. This is, after all, a book for Dummies (like me,) and I was able to get this information by going to a local grocery store's website..where I didn't have to jump from chapter to chapter searching for information I needed. I am grateful that this book is here for people like me, and I recommend it highly to anyone in the first stages of pondering how to live Gluten-Free.

Great book for Celiacs
Great book for celiacs and those with wheat or gluten allergies. Also gave me alternative diets to try (example, FODMAP diet) as I can't get my antibody count down even though I am pretty sure I am 100% gluten free for the past two years. I also have Celiac disease for Dummies which is also a great book.

Love it, fabulous source of information
I simply love that book: the tone, the information, the way the book is structured, easy to read. It has become my favorite book on the subject to date (I do have quite a few books).

Too American for me
Biased towards the US market. There are better, more relevant books out there. A lot of links to American website's that are of little use to the UK coeliac.
