Good Replacement
Once installed it started working well. One very small issue is that this unit seems to take longer for the A/C to start, about 15 seconds from time the remote is initially turned on. The old one was about 5 seconds or less.

still the best
This is the only system where you can move the thermostat around so it can work on the temperature where the sending unit is. Others today use wifi, but you still have only 1 location for the receiver.

Easy install - works great!
The unit was easy to install and solved our heating issues. We needed a remote thermostat to overcome issues with poor placement on our original unit which was located in the entry hall of our condo. Now our bedroom is at a constant and comfortable temperature.

Excellent product and service!
Excellent product and service! Works as advertised. Keeps the upper rooms cool and eleminated the dead zone where the old thermostat was receiving temperature from both the upper and lower floors.

Died after 1 minute of operation
We were very excited about this, but it died about 1 minute after we installed it. Will need to return it and find something else....

It is a 'ok' product, but a bit pricey
Venstar Wireless Thermostat Kit For the Ventstar wireless thermostat to work, you need to buyat least one transmitter and one receiver,so you are looking at $200 approx.I have been using the Venstar thermostat for over 4 months now. This review is based on my experience in the pass four months. For the most part, the basic function works.I would be much happier if improvements are made in the following areas:1) The transmitter is too bulky. If the size can be reduced by 50% it would look much better.2) For a $200 product, I expects a higher grade plastic casing. The current plastic casing is a bit too cheap looking for my taste.3) The receiver some time missed the command sent from the transmitter. It will eventually catch up, but the delay is annoying. This seem to get worse if the I use a 'house code' higher than zero. (zero is the default 'house code') This is a big issue for me. If the link between the transmitter and receiver is more reliable, user experience will improve a lot.4) It lacks the support for 'integrated air quality' system. If you have a air purifier installed with the furnace, you can not set up a separate time schedule just for the fan.5) The user interface is a pain to program. This is mainly because transmitter has only 5 buttons on it. Each button has to serve multiple functions. I like the user interface of the Luxpro thermostat _much_ better. (Luxpro does not have a wireless model, however) This problem can be solved if Venstar is willing to add more buttons.
