RCBSTaper/C Seater, .40 S and W / 10-mm

RCBS is good stuff.

Its RCBS so, its really well made and WORKS very well for its intended purpose. I already had the complete RCBS 3-Die carbide set, but I don't like to seat & crimp in the same step!, so I 4-step the process, meaning that I have two seater dies and I set the first up to only seat and removed MOST of the case neck bail, I seat all the bullets, and then I switch out the seater die for the crimper die (bullet seating stem removed) and then I go back though and crimp them. The reason I do this is because when seating soft nose bullets like JHP's just before the bullet is fully seated the crimp process starts, this increases the need for MORE seating force and in turn can deform the bullet noses enough to cause inconsistent O.A.L So, Yea! I'm picky but I've been reloading sense around 1985.And to note!The SWC seater stem that came in this die fit my 165gr. JHP bullets really well! The bottom of the cup is flat across the hollow point, while the shoulder seats firmly around the upper area of the ogive. I'm getting consistent load lengths with NO noticeable bullet deformities!!It made a VERY nice addition to my 40 cal die set!This is a higher quality than LEE and here its about the same price! I gave it 5-stars for quality and being a good deal!

Was originally sent a 3-die set for .50 AE calibre. and had to return it for the correct die. Already had a carbide die set for 10mm and ordered this to use for .40 S&W, so that I can maintain separate settings for bullet seating for each calibre. Works great for it's intended purpose.

I have both 40S&W and 10mm so I needed an extra die for seating. Great dies, these are priced well and are reliable and consistant. The only problem I have had with RCBS dies is with the set screw. If I re adjust often the allen socket will strip if I try to tighten too much.
