Large Outdoor Tube Thermometer

I was super excited to purchase this for my Nan for Christmas because she is almost completely blind and the large print numbers would have been perfect for her.I read the reviews and took a chance anyway, because this is exactly what she was looking for. Unfortunately, I'll have to rate this with one star. It came broken, as many others have complained about. The mercury has begun to leak in a small area and there are shards falling out of the bottom. Needles to say, I won't be purchasing this again.I am pleased to say the the customer service I received via Amazon was superb! She was very helpful and it took no time to resolve my problem and get a refund. So thank you for that, Amazon.

This would be a great thermometer if it wasn't so fragile! My first one arrived cracked, and then the replacement arrived and I hung it out on our deck and it's been about three weeks and it's cracked again! It large and easy to read my sons needs it to read the temperature daily to the nearest ten! So we will have to skip a few days, looking for a replacement!

This was broken in the package....I know it's not an expensive item, but it was really cheaply made

It works. I placed it outside my kitchen window in a shady area... and compared the temp to the forecast. and it was accurate.Fairly easy to see.

The plastic is very thin and fragile. When I was hanging it up, the part by the hole at the top snapped.That being said, it gives you the temperature, so I guess it works.

It appears to be effective at measuring the temperature outside. I may not like the temperature it tells me, but I'm told I shouldn't blame the messenger, so I will recommend this thermometer. It's not super pretty, but it gets the job done.

Easy to read at a distance of about 10 feet. Mounted it outside in the shade (to get accurate readings and to prevent fading of the printed numbers).

I will give this thermo two stars because it does have very large number that i can read from even inside my home (it is installed out side in patio). But what it lacks is accuracy. The darn little vile moves in its cradle!!! How are u suppose to know where to place it?! Its like having a spinning face plate on a watch...sure the movement may b correct but beside from knowing that the 12 is suppose to be on top.. how do u know where the 90 degree mark is suppose to land.I finally figured out that by using another thermo and setting this one to that one, you can "calibrate" and now i guess its correct. I used some super glue to keep the vile from moving. So for the price i guess im content with this product. I do like that it is a vertical display and has big numbers.
