I’m not one to write review, but I feel the need to for other potential buyers with sensitive skin. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR PEOPLE WITH SENSITIVE SKIN. The first use it made my skin feel tight, but by the second use it burned my skin so badly the worse being on this cheek. I did not apply directly on skin as instructed so I rubbed some on a clean washcloth and created a lather to apply to my face. This is very unfortunate because drug store face cleansers are hell for my skin and natural treatments have always worked except for this product. A waste of money.

It’s been 8 months of continued use, and I couldn’t be happier. I haven’t had a new blemish in over 2 months and I used to break out every other day. I use it twice a day, never leave it on longer than 2 minutes. I use rose water toner, vitamin E oil, and tea tree oil on new blemishes (rarely). First photo June 2018, last two photos January 2019.

I have sensitive skin so when I first used this soap it burned my skin in my chest area and around my neck. I didnt want to throw it away so i allowed my skin to heal and I thought of a new way to get the best use out of the product and here is how I use it.1: since my skin is super sensitive I don't exfoliate before using this soap, and I use luke warm warm water to wet my my skin.2: to cut a standard soap size portion of the ABS and I run it under the water and apply it directly to my skin. (I DO NOT USE A WASHCLOTH)3: I lather my entire body, with the soap.4: there are sharp pieces in the soap so to avoid getting poked I run my fingers over them to push them deeper into the soap, so once I'm down to the last bit, its only the sharp pieces remaining and I can throw it out.5: after my entire body is lathered I use a wash cloth to clean and exfoliate, and I rinse clean.Before I started using this method my skin would be irritated and it would burn and sting my private areas. I no longer have any break outs, burns, or burning sensation. Just like your body had to get used to all the unatural ingredients pumped into it, it also has to get use to pure ingedients. My skin loves this soap now, and even the mild scaring that was left behind from initial use is gone. I know some might say this is to much work just to use a soap, but its better than wasting money. Don't throw out the soap if you have sensitive skin..try my method first.

After reading a TON of reviews, I was really apprehensive about trying this. I have recently decided to go organic/natural with my skin care routine after suffering from hormonal/cystic acne for the past year. For reference, my skin is normally combination and sensitive, but during this harsh Canadian winters, it's been quite dry.Using African Black Soap was different than anything I had ever used. First, you have to take the bar and cut it into smaller sections. Then mould those pieces into little balls so that there are no sharp or jagged edges. I kept the excess pieces in a large ziploc bag, and the one I'm using in a little tupperware container. Then I wet my hands in warm/cool water, lather with the soap, put the soap back, and then take the lather on my hands and apply to my face. As soon as I'm done lathering, I rinse immediately. DO NOT rinse with hot water or leave on for too long if you have dry and/or sensitive skin.I do find this drying on my skin so I only use it in the evening, with a more gentle cleanser in the morning. But nothing has ever made my skin feel so clean and smooth. There's really nothing like it. Some say it helps with acne scarring, but for me it hasn't. It has really just worked to prevent future breakouts - which was my top priority.For the price, I would recommend you give it a try if you're suffering from acne or poor skin texture/tone.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product. I have been trying to master a beautiful clear skin regiment for so LONG. I was skeptical. But I just ordered this bar and a container of raw shea butter. When I tell you I have NEVER had absolutely clear skin I HAVENT until now. I almost can't believe it. I BARELY have to wear ANY concealer. I only do because my cheeks get rosey sometimes. This stuff is strong so you only need a small piece, lather in your hands like roll it around and then apply. Don't apply straight to your face because the soap might have shards in it. Then I pat my face dry and apply raw shea butter. A generous layer. And when I wake up if im good to go. Not only is my face absolutely CLEAR I saw immidiate results and my face is even beginning to be all the same tone. I cannot press how amazing this is!!!

This stuff makes my KP go away completely.A tip... Everyone seems to have issues with where to store it so it doesn't get mooshy...I put the slice of mine in an exfoliating pouch from some Asian company (I think Korean), they come in a green/pink pack of 6.Anyway then I can use it without worrying about being scratched from the pieces, and then I hang the pouch over the soap handle where it dries.Anyway that's how I keep it from disintegrating

This soap is amazing! It cleanse deep down in the pores to bring out your natural skin color. Especially if your a melanated person. Great buy!

This is by far the best soap I have ever used. Not only the cleansing affect is more than beneficial. I also found the different oils very soothing to my skin. I have worked in the sun all my life and this soap is actually refreshing to my skin. I find if I leave it on a bit the softening of the skin, plus the fact that it Definately helps my skin rashes and eczema. I was able to cut the 5lb. bar into 24 very nice size bars. I have also given away 6 bars to close friends. I think you will Definately have new customers. Thank you for your time and effort in this product. A satisfied customer who will return and return.
