It Works Perfectly
I've had a few different butane torch style soldering irons over the years. I was hesitant to buy this one as it has a fairly high price, but I'm so glad I did. It works perfectly. I believe this will be the last one I ever need to buy. You can tell it is of a high quality just holding it in your hand. When it lights up on the first try and doesn't go out on it's own like most of the others, you know you bought the right one. I would have actually saved money if I started out with this one in the beginning.

Replacement for a previous model that lasted 35 years.
I purchased one of these about 35 years ago and it has worked flawlessly for me, until about 2 years ago when.it just finally stopped working. The last couple years years, I:’ve been using a plug in mini soldering iron, and I really loved the portability of the gas iron. The lastest model is somewhat less expensive than the original model I purchaased, and I’m so happy with y purchase. I just hope this one lasts as long as my first one! If it does, it will probably outlive me!🤣

The best for us
We bought this so we could solder the wires for our low voltage landscape lights without having to drag an extension cord along. We have a lot of modifications we are doing to our outdoor lighting. The battery operated one I had was just not strong enough to even heat up the heavy gage wire, not to mention the corrosion on the old wire in the ground was a big hinderance. We used a solder torch for a short while but they are so freaky hot and hard to use without accidently burning the wire coating or the area around where your working. We had reservations (due to the high price) but took a chance and bought this one. It is a great solder iron. We don't even bother with any other soldering irons we have and we have a variety. Read and follow the instructions and it will always work. I have read reviews where people have trouble and it almost always sounds like they didn't fully read the instuctions for lighting and using this iron. So easy and so hot when you need it. We swear by it and would advise even people who don't need a wirerless solder iron. If you buy it you will find yourself grabbing it instead of the plug in one, no matter what the job.

Works great, while they work….
This has been the standard in the car audio world for 20 years. Nothing portable out there has the precision that this unit does. That said after awhile they’ll be hard to light, and you have to coordinate hitting the igniter while waving in a downward motion, soon after that it will stop lighting - usually in the middle of a job. In my career I’ve personally gone through 10, and every installer I know is about the same. The manufacturer says “we’ve never had this issue” anyway, I still buy them. But GET THE ASSURION WARRANTY- I promise you’ll use it.

Great tool for the mobile tech.
This tool has been great so far, I've used both the soldering and heat gun function both a handful of times and am impressed with both. Tip heats up super fast and and seems to be quality made, the tools it's self is of great quality. The tool is a little bulky compared to my electrical soldering wand (metcal) but it's not too much heavier either. The heat gun sheild does seem a little weird when trying to attach it to the heating tip, it falls off but I really wouldn't use it anyway but it woul be nice if it were a better fit. Another thing they could improve on is the case, maybe make it slightly bigger and have multiple holding slots for additional tips that people will eventually buy. The additional tips is another reason I chose this over the other brands, just so many options! I really appreciate that.

Made with qulity materials
I have been soldering for 40 yrs, from electric soldering stations in bench work, to butane iron soldering in the field. My 30 yr old Portasol broke. I looked at Portasol and Weller to replace it, but found some disturbing reviews. After reading reviews I decided on this iron. It is a real quality piece of merchandise. Very easy to fill with fuel, easy to light , easy to change tips. The controls for turning iron on/off and regulating gas are precision made. Heats up from cold to soldering in about 30 seconds. I was repairing a wiring harness and turned iron on/off about 10 times, no problem restarting. used iron for about an hour full open gas and had about 1/3 left in tank. Tank viewing window is very easy to check fuel amount .The only and I mean the only thing I can say negative is the case is extremely hard to open and close .If you solder for a living, give this iron a try, I think you'll like it.
