Black's Law Dictionary, 10th Edition 10th Edition

This is a product that it very useful for law students and I recommend that if you are just starting law school that you buy one. During my first year in law school I often found myself referring to this product for help while reading cases, which in my opinion was worth the expense. Definitely a product I will be using for the rest of my legal career.

Amazon has brought me another great bargain! The Tenth Edition of the BLACK'S LAW DICTIONARY is the most current edition available for consumer purchase, and, as such, is the most complete legal book I own. I will continue to favor Amazon for future such legal books purchases, as well as their many other fairly-priced items in their total inventory.

This is a must have for those who tinker in law. Compare the words in a law dictionary to the words in an oxford dictionary you will be surprised how what you say in court is damning you, just by using common english word you use everyday. The courtroom people use a form of play of words like you would never believe.

Got it after my professor in college told every that this is one of the best law dictionary there is and it's a must have for future law students. And there, I went and bought it. The book is amazingly beautiful, but overwhelming at the same time because of its size. Although, since it is a dictionary, I wished they'd put alphabetical reference on the side of the pages for easier access to the vocabularies, like most dictionaries.

I bought this after my husband was accepted into law school. It is very large and heavy but was gifted with the intention of being on a bookshelf. I wrote a congratulatory inscription in the book’s cover and we will treasure it for years to come—if only for the memory of our law school journey. And...who knows? Maybe he will actually look something up in it one day.

Significant improvements, additions and changes have been made to this since at least the 5th edition which is the next most recent edition I was able to get my hands on at the bookshelf of my firm. I use it daily. It rarely, if ever, lets me down when I need to look up legal terms, with all their specific contexts and respective meanings. And yes, it will explain terms MUCH better than googling things and hoping you land on sources that know as much as Black's.
