The dress appears similar to the photo - the color is spot on and is perfect for a costume. The material is slight thin, but it is nice. The button holes were a little too small for the buttons to fit through them, but that’s an easy fix. The dress is a good length (I’m 5’11) - I was a bit worried that it would be too short. Even with the hoop skirt under it, it was still a good length. I may need to reinforce the loops on the back of the dress, as another person has pointed out, but that is also an easy fix. It arrived quickly, also.

Back loops are sad and not supportive foe the string. 3 loops broke on first wear.

I was scared to buy this first handed and now i need to return it because knowing that something so adorable does not fit someone like me, was a huge disappointment. Do not waste money on this if you have a wide back, big front and everything lol.

A few years back, I made a purchase of a dark colored Cosplay type, robe, overcoat. The item I purchased has been helpful to me in a multitude of situations. Although the fabric was something like the fabric of a graduation robe, in a type, of costumer's synthetic fabric, it has been a useful clothing item to me, for at home situations, such as taking my dog for a stroll, picking up the newspaper or collecting the mail, when I was not really dressed to go out, but dressed for other in home projects. I, have wondered why such items were not usually offered, as an affordable norm, at the department stores. True, the " Overcoat" does have some questionable points, such as a rather large mod, cosplay logo, that I am unsure of the meaning of, on the back. But , it has suited me, and the robe, over jacket, has been extremely useful to me, for some years now. I tried to re-order the same type of gown a second time. The item looked exactly the same as the first clothing item I purchased, but the logo was a different color. Unfortunately , even though the sizing claimed the same size, the second robe I purchased, is one, I have not worn, due to a mismatch in size. The reason I am writing all of this in regard, to a seemingly unrelated purchase, has to do, with how, certain cosplay and costume dress up clothes can really be necessity items, that are not always offered at the mall or department stores. The above XUEJIN, Lolita Gothic dress that I purchased at Amazon, does have its good points. The dress arrived looking more like a stocking dress, than a stiff cotton petit-coat dress with coat , as seen in the Amazon shopping window. When I put the dress onto the hanger, it began to look more like the item I had hoped to purchase from Amazon. Cosplay clothing items often are smaller than usual sizing , some are designed for youngsters and others for inbetween age sizes and others for average adults and men. If you seem like a vain female person trying to buy clothing items the sizing might feel stingy? Be careful of sizing when ordering such clothing items since they might be different from your size standards or be listed in CM rather than in inches. I do want to purchase, some other dresses offered at Amazon, including a petit coat to go with the rather unstarched version of the XUEJIN that I purchased last month. The other aspect of purchasing such clothing items might have to do with freedoms of dress? Depending upon, what you plan to wear your costume type clothing for, or for which events or locations. Persons from whom you may seek information about such clothing purchases or grooming items, might be hesitant, regarding fabric , style and color? Or they might look at such as purchase as being somewhat competitive, with limited numbers or character costuming solutions? I have had specific size choices and color choices, taken away ,partly because of difficulty with third and fourth party purchases which have added incidental charges. True, such Items can be somewhat cost effective, but once you make a single purchase of such items , you may see the cost rise instantly and then change again during the time you are waiting for it to arrive. Have a good time, when selecting such items, but be prepared for cloth and fabric discrepancies as well as sizing differences. I do like the XUEJIN dress, but do also question the associations to this costume clothing item, such as if it is to a specific character or theme, that I might disagree with? It fits! It is not exactly like the picture! But it is a costume dress that I can see as being an easy color and discreet costume style for various cosplay, club or party situations. Oh, FYI This item did fit as expected , but I did have to order a size that is one, I do not usually order.

I ordered a 2X and it still fit a little to tight, nothing I can't adjust. The buttons were poorly sewn on so I will need to read do those as well as give them proper spacing to the chest piece lays flat. The material is quite thin which will make it easier to wear in the summer but you will need to get a petticoat as the skirt doesn't have much volume. Nice length in the skirt, the sleeves are tight and a little short but easily adjustable for the length. The rope on the side will have to be replaced as it is tangled and poor quality. The bow is also not as seen in the picture so I will replace that and the ribbon on the back as it is too weak to actually do anything for the dress. The color is beautiful and if not for all the loose threads the fabric and seams would have been perfect.

Fabric: cheap build, but looks easy to cleanoutfit itself: a few stray strings here and there. also a bit tight in the shoulder area for those who have big shoulders. the little rose on the shoulder was disappointing looking, but thats an easy remedy.otherwise, this is very plus size friendly. just make sure to order 2 sizes up from your original size, as this is asian sized. mine is a 4x, and i'm typically a 2x. its very breathable and comfortable.overall, i'm happy with my purchase.

Material and color not as expected. For material i really should have looked st the description but for the color to be so different and the cut is a bit different too:/ just a bit of a bummer i decided to keep it and diy fix and resew the loose buttons and stitching etc
