I don’t usually right reviews but this product has been a blessing. Very easy to setup and works perfectly. I have a bad hip and knee and almost didn’t set up the pool this year. It has saved me a lot of time and pain not having to do the stairs to fill the pool water every few days. It keeps the level just right. Fantastic product thanks so much. I give the pool sentry 10 stars.

So far so good - working well to maintain the water level of the pool. This does have a somewhat narrow range (meaning the window between when it turns on and off is not very large - if it drops about an inch, it will turn on). It has been working for several weeks so far with no issues. When the hose was first attached there was a very minor drip at the connection, but we used a little bit of white plumbers tape and then reattached the hose and no drips at all.

Very simple to use: fill with rocks to weigh it down, attach the hose, and adjust the water level. I knocked off one star because there's no way to clasp the two parts together, so inevitably someone will try to move it and spill rocks everywhere. A "lock" feature for the water level would also be useful so that someone doesn't accidentally change the water level setting. This happened to me once and I accidentally overfilled my pool. It's kind of in the middle of the way since you need to run a hose to it, so other people will end up moving it. That said, it does what it's supposed to do really well so your pool will stay full.

It didn't work. Super cheap, just a bunch of plastic casing with a plastic float. This was my second one. The first one worked fine for a few years then broke. The amount of use reasonable enough to warrant a second one. The float on the second one didn't stop the water from flowing correctly, so it just kept running the water. By the time I got it hooked up and tried adjusting it, the return window had passed, which is only 30 days. I suppose my bad on not being more suspicious or more careful or for believing I could adjust it to work. But 30 days is not much of a warranty! I don't see how you can sell an item to the public and only back it up for a month. So I will look elsewhere. This thing is trash for $100 (including tax). It's made of plastic casing, had a plastic float, plastic rod that pulls the float up which triggers the water shut off, plastic hose attachment with a small cheap pot metal end. And it doesn't work. What is there to like. They are making a mint off this thing, probably costs $10 to make.

Can't beleive any pool builder would build a pool that would require you to use a water hose to keep your pool filled on a regular basis, duh! But this little guy is a true savior that removes the headache of constantly monitoring and filling the pool not to mention possible over filling. I live in Arizona and the summers here are hot so evaperation is constant, but not a problem with this simple yet effective gadget. Works on the same principle as your toilet tank filler. I can just imagine the light that went off in some persons head that figured this system out. It's takes 5 mins to put together, I do recommend connecting a good quality dependalbe hose that can endure the elements of all day sun exposure like the "Zero-G" hose or the "RV/Marine white/blue hose ", which iI have used for years now, both great products. Since the hose stretches from the spigot to the edge of the pool, You may want to consider putting some orange paint or tape on the hose so people see it and don't trip over it. Note: YOU MUST PUT SOME PLUMBERS TAPE AROUND THE "THREATED" PARTS (2 OF THEM; ONE ON THE HOSE AND ONE ON THE UNIT) OR YOU WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE A LEAK! The plumber tape takes care of that issue perfectly. Now turn the water on and it should start to put water into the pool. With the pool water level already filled to the mid point of the skimmer openning, I used some tweezers to grab the hard to get to white stem that adjusts the shut-off point by pulling it up and turning it counter clockwise until it shut off. I did put some farely good size rocks inside the box area to weight it down. Lastly, I make sure my hose is straight so theres no tension to cause problems. that's it check it once or twice to make sure no leaks and filling correctly, then forget about it (well maybe check it from time to time)! I can't say enough how it has taken the stress and worry out of whether the pool has enough water 24/7 especially if you aren't home for a few days, because if the water level gets lower than the skimmer opening, your pump will run dry and burn it up. I saw another post on here that gave it a terrible review I just can't beleive given my experience which this product which includes it hasn't been abused by kids, dogs, mowers etc.

2nd Update: My previous attempt to adjust it still wasn't working well. The float would get stuck either going up or coming down. I noticed that the float would lift at the front so the top was rubbing against the shaft at an angle and getting stuck at a certain spot. I took the unit apart and saw that the shaft was not a single tube, but had been joined and there was quite a gap between the fins of each section. This is where the float was sticking. I adjusted the float level so the bottom was slightly above the join and it has worked fine for the last 6 to 8 weeks. I'm still leaving this at a 3 star rating though because I think it's a very bad design. The shaft should be a single piece with no join and definitely no gap for the float to catch on. Updated: I'm changing this from 1 star to 3 stars. After many adjustments I've managed to get it to work more reliably, but there's a still sticking point where it doesn't always get past easily. It does seem to stop eventually now instead of running forever and overfilling. I still have a problem of not being able to trust it though so I probably wouldn't leave it on if I was to be gone for any length of time, which really defeats the purpose of having it. Once again, I should have paid more attention to the 1-star reviews. This thing is very unreliable. The float doesn't slide up and down freely, but sticks. I came home to discover the water to the very top of the pool again because it didn't shut off. If not for my overflow pipe it would be pouring chlorine water into my bushes. This is the second time it's happened. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test it out after my purchase as we've had a lot of rain until the last week or so, so the water level has been high until this last week, past my return window. Anyway, this is a cheap, overpriced product that's difficult to set properly and even when finally is set, the float sticks. Waste of $90+.

What a life saving device this is. Used it for my pool and now I never have to top up. Thinking of getting one for my koi pond. Highly recommend this.

The product is basic, so easy to fit and use. The only downfall with it is the connections, they aren't included unless you are in America. Tried purchasing a reinforced water pipe (Caravan) so it could handle the constant mains water pressure but the snap connection is the weakest link and only lasted a couple of days before bursting. If you aren't home, this water will keep running until you get home (sorry if you are overseas like I was) or if a friendly neighbour will notice the wastage and turn the tap off for you. I will be trying "Hoselink" once I return home as these seem to be the best product to use for hose connections that are under constant pressure.

I have a slow leak in my pool, the water level drops around 1/2" to an inch per day, the Rola-Chem M-3000 does the fill up job for me. Great gadget, a little expensive but for me it was worth the money.

We have a small leak in the liner of our inground pool at our cottage, so we purchased this to keep the water level where it is supposed to be when we are not there to monitor it. It's been nearly a month and seems to be working perfectly.
