New Rola‑Chem Pool Sentry M‑3000 Automatic Pool Filler – Automatic Water Leveler for Inground & Above‑Ground Pools, Ponds & Spas – Auto Pool Filler with Adjustable Float Valve

I bought this for my pool and it has simplified my life so much. I used to have to turn on my water and then set alarms on my phone to ensure I turned it off. Now this sentry automatically fills the pool and turns it off when it is to level. Very easy to set up and the "hardest" part is deciding where to set it and all you have to do is keep an eye on it and set it where you want it then dial it in. Never wake up to a low water level in your pool again.

Simple setup, seems to be working after day one. Will report later if a problem arise. Looks good.

I would have given it 5-Stars except that the hose end could have been better. Mine broke off but I was able to fix it by gluing on a 1/2-in Plastic Threaded Drip Irrigation Female Adapter available from Lowe's. The manufacturer does have a replacement (Part 503022) but it's about $15. The adapter from Lowe's is $2.38. Other than that, It works very well.

Before I had this I used a timer on the hose. It was pretty cheaply made, leaked and I never really trusted it. It was a standard, mechanical hose timer that worked like a wind-up egg timer. I also looked a battery operated, programmable ones but never ended up getting one because I found this. It works the same way your toilet float does. There is a float on a stem that hangs over the side of the pool and can be adjusted for depth. Once the float raises to that point, the water cuts off. When the water level drops, the float drops with it and the valve opens again to allow more water to flow into the pool. It is such a simple concept that it is extremely reliable. All you have to do is make sure that over time the stem doesn't develop calcifications that might cause the float to jam. Other than that, it really just works. I've been using mine for months now and have had no problems whatsoever. Before this, every time I went out of town I worried that my pool level would drop and my pump would be sucking air. Not a problem any more. I highly recommend this product.

The Pool Sentry auto pool leveler appears like a good product when reading about it's capabilities. I use this product while away from home on extended vacations. My hose bib is 100 feet away from where I position the auto filler by my pool. This purchase was a replacement of an old filler. When I connected an existing hose that I have used in the past, the auto filler leaked at the hose connection. After adding plumbers tape and doing additional tightening of the connection, it still leaked. I presumed that the hose that I was using needed replacement and $90 later I had all brand new parts. Unfortunately the problem was not the hose but the cheap connector on the Pool Sentry. After connecting the new hose to the Pool Sentry, it continued to leak on to my cool deck which I knew would cause staining in the long term. I returned the Pool Sentry and replaced it with a similar product. If you opt for the Pool Sentry note the notification on Amazon advising customers that the Pool Sentry is a frequently returned item. Also don't assume as I did that the male connecter portion of your hose is what is causing the leak. It it the connector in the Pool Sentry.

Can't beleive any pool builder would build a pool that would require you to use a water hose to keep your pool filled on a regular basis, duh! But this little guy is a true savior that removes the headache of constantly monitoring and filling the pool not to mention possible over filling. I live in Arizona and the summers here are hot so evaperation is constant, but not a problem with this simple yet effective gadget. Works on the same principle as your toilet tank filler. I can just imagine the light that went off in some persons head that figured this system out. It's takes 5 mins to put together, I do recommend connecting a good quality dependalbe hose that can endure the elements of all day sun exposure like the "Zero-G" hose or the "RV/Marine white/blue hose ", which iI have used for years now, both great products. Since the hose stretches from the spigot to the edge of the pool, You may want to consider putting some orange paint or tape on the hose so people see it and don't trip over it. Note: YOU MUST PUT SOME PLUMBERS TAPE AROUND THE "THREATED" PARTS (2 OF THEM; ONE ON THE HOSE AND ONE ON THE UNIT) OR YOU WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE A LEAK! The plumber tape takes care of that issue perfectly. Now turn the water on and it should start to put water into the pool. With the pool water level already filled to the mid point of the skimmer openning, I used some tweezers to grab the hard to get to white stem that adjusts the shut-off point by pulling it up and turning it counter clockwise until it shut off. I did put some farely good size rocks inside the box area to weight it down. Lastly, I make sure my hose is straight so theres no tension to cause problems. that's it check it once or twice to make sure no leaks and filling correctly, then forget about it (well maybe check it from time to time)! I can't say enough how it has taken the stress and worry out of whether the pool has enough water 24/7 especially if you aren't home for a few days, because if the water level gets lower than the skimmer opening, your pump will run dry and burn it up. I saw another post on here that gave it a terrible review I just can't beleive given my experience which this product which includes it hasn't been abused by kids, dogs, mowers etc.

What a life saving device this is. Used it for my pool and now I never have to top up. Thinking of getting one for my koi pond. Highly recommend this.

The product is basic, so easy to fit and use. The only downfall with it is the connections, they aren't included unless you are in America. Tried purchasing a reinforced water pipe (Caravan) so it could handle the constant mains water pressure but the snap connection is the weakest link and only lasted a couple of days before bursting. If you aren't home, this water will keep running until you get home (sorry if you are overseas like I was) or if a friendly neighbour will notice the wastage and turn the tap off for you. I will be trying "Hoselink" once I return home as these seem to be the best product to use for hose connections that are under constant pressure.

Simple, yet very effective. Never have to worry about burning out the pump when I go away. One thing to note, use teflon tape on all connections to avoid leaks.

We have a small leak in the liner of our inground pool at our cottage, so we purchased this to keep the water level where it is supposed to be when we are not there to monitor it. It's been nearly a month and seems to be working perfectly.
